Rashad “SHAD” Stephens is American rapper and songwriter from Atlantic City, N.J who rose to local attention and acclaim in 2012 when he released his first solo project titled “Unwritten Laws” featuring songs such as “Tears”, “New Years”, and “Go For The Gold.”
Court attention quickly surrounded young upcoming recording artist "SHAD" as a voice for the streets... Not just glorifying street activities but also speaking on morals and standards you should live by a "code" and if one chooses not to there are consequences one must face, Such a point of view we just don't get from an average rapper. In early 2013 "SHAD" was charged in a drug trafficking investigation “Operation Blok Buster” along with 28 other people after a year-long case “SHAD” was sentenced to 5 Years in N.J. State Penitentiary. Now just after 3 weeks of being released “SHAD” independently signed to his Record Label imprint “GREAT MINDS LLC” is currently in the studio writing and recording his sophomore album “5ummers”. Fans and social media followers have been asking for new music since his release after a long drought but “SHAD” is respectfully moving at his own pace and trusting his process. He also understands that his fans must get what they want in a time of instant gratification due to the rise of streaming platforms so here we are 10 FREESTYLES on the “What I Miss” FREE MIXTAPE highlighting subjects and topics the people want to hear about. This project is just an appetizer or a kick start to the beginning of a campaign to take the music industry by a storm.
