This is followed by GUYNAMUKAT's second mix which slow down the proceeedings a tad for a  boogie fired version with live disco bass,handclaps and Tabu Zombie's unmistakeable muted trumpet. Swales undoubtedly falls within these high-potential dudes we’ve been following closely since their early stages as we fell in love at first sight with his heady house tune ‘From Tokyo’ three years ago. The Manchester-based taste-maker embodies an idiosyncratic type of house that sounds both funky and euphonious, and gives a particular relish making it its hobbyhorse when it comes to production, always bearing in mind 90s inspired cuts. The purveyor of modernistic beats has recently gained ground in constantly rising record labels like Dansu Discs or SlothBoogie, releasing a myriad of gritty and unctuous nu-disco-infused bangers. Having already smoothly supported leading house names such as Big Miz or DJ Boring, and having freshly launched his own label Rhythm Department Records, we bet our bottom dollar that 2020 will be a key success story for him.

Today, he takes us on a tour of his city and turns in an hour of intimate and exquisite house jams from DJ Spen, DJ Technic and Blaze, to name but three. This is an essential reminder of how proficient is the guy when it comes to selecting and pairing up house tunes with mastery.

The latest artist to deliver a volume in digital download specialists Masterworks Music's occasional "Master Series" of vinyl EPs is Dirtytwo, a Scandinavian duo best-known for their releases on Local k and Razor 'N' Tape Reserve. A-side "Consensual" is a genuinely deep and immersive affair driven forwards by echoing electric piano stabs, hissing ride cymbals and addictive bass, all topped off by glassy-eyed vocal samples of what sounds like Motown legend Marvin Gaye. Flipside "Get Down & Get With It" is an altogether sweatier and sleazier affair, closer in tone to the pair's various loved-up and peak-time-ready singles on Local Talk. It's rather good, though we still prefer the tactile and huggable A-side.
