Downtown Groove Sessions 132 w/ mpeg

Mr. Mendel has been a RH store customer for over a decade. He pops in for listening sessions on a regular basis, yet not for hours and hours like he did a few weeks ago. The broadly inspired DJ checked the racks in many corners before he started recording. His store mix became lengthy, featuring 26 tracks.

Growing up in Amsterdam, Mendel started out in the city’s hip-hop scene. Later, when he worked at Waxwell Records, he got further introduced to many styles of music, broadening his musical horizon from Brazilian to African music, and from disco to soul to house music. Today, Mr Mendel tours extensively through Europe and beyond and releases edits on Lumberjacks in Hell, Disco Deviance and Basic Fingers.

This is the seventeenth in a series of Rush Hour Store mixes, where we invite our favorite artists and DJs to dig the bins and record us a mix on the spot. Click on the links below for more info on the featured tracks.
