We're not even close to recovering from the sonic assault of Technique's twentieth-anniversary 'Remix LP' but the follow-up strike is already upon us. We've seen classics from the back cat get the treatment from the likes of A.M.C, Bladerunner, Marky and Digital, but now it's all about looking to the future. With ten brand new killer tunes, the Technique Recordings gang are already setting a benchmark for 2020.

And, judging by this album, the picture of what's to come is multi-hued and multi-faceted.

The break-focused future-jungle tear-out of Drumsound & Bassline Smith's 'Ruffneck Soldier' – already a tried and tested deejay weapon on dub – sits alongside the cinematic expanse of L Plus's 'The Planet' and the controlled aggression of NC-17 and Exile's 'War'.

As if to emphasise the variety, No Concept's Kerizma-laced 'Electrify' rubs shoulders with Tantrum Desire and Youngman's 'Precision', offering us a horror-influenced stomper and a soul-meets-staccato dancefloor workout respectively. And that's before we even get into the contribution from DJSS, 'Only Get Better', blending subtlety and savagery in equal measure.

This is Technique's 2020 vision, setting out a blueprint for the type of beat and bassline science that's going to be lighting up drum 'n' bass dancefloors over the coming months. Building on the hard-earned legacy of twenty years in the business, their next two decades in the top tier start right here. Essential.

After a successful 2019 including the critically acclaimed ode to rave culture Saxon Street EP, with singles like ‘One More Time’ and ‘London Soul’ gaining support from the scene’s most influential tastemakers and DJs, Insomniax are back with their first release of 2020.

A collaboration with label favourite Miss Trouble, ‘Elements’ opens on a foreboding note, delivering a sinister soundscape right from the start. Combining the dark grit of neuro with the more jovial drums of the genre’s jungle origins, the production pairs perfectly with the distinguished vocals of Miss Trouble for one seriously memorable result. Where the drops deliver an infectious groove, things turn much more ominous as Miss Trouble’s iconic voice becomes more and more robotic, giving the track an apocalyptic flair.

With two Viper favourites coming together on one track, you know the result is going to be nothing short of phenomenal, and the creative forces behind ‘Elements’ certainly don’t disappoint. Sinister yet catchy, Insomniax and Miss Trouble have proven to be a match made in heaven and marks a strong start to 2020 for both.

Each new release from Technique's L Plus emphatically confirms his status as a DnB heavyweight. Only recently, we've heard his tune 'The Orion' scorching sets and streams from some of the biggest deejays in the scene. Real heads know to watch for everything that comes from this guy's studio, so, if you've been sleeping, now's the time to remedy the situation and jump on the L Plus hype train.

'Sound Question' gets things running from beat number one. A blend-friendly sixteen bars of drums and pulsing bass get things started, setting the scene with some rising vibesy chords. And then we're delivered into the tune properly with an absolutely anthemic breakdown. With powerful, almost stadium rock vibes that will simultaneously spawn screw-faces, gun fingers and hands-in-the-air, L Plus has gone big.

All that, and there's still a drop coming.

A catchy, funk-invades-the-main-stage bassline drives the energy onwards backed with bulletproof pumping drums. And there's even more to discover. Little film soundtrack melodies and deftly-dropped samples shimmer into view before giving way to the next part of the journey. Once again, L Plus shows us how he can grab our attention and hold it, and whether you're playing this clean or in the mix, the vibe-controlling possibilities are clear.

L PLUS started his career as a Drum & Bass DJ in 1998 at the University of Architecture in Bratislava, where he founded the DJ crew Trademark with 2 friends. He started to perform at local parties and soon became a part of the drum & bass scene in Slovakia. The same year he started to produce his own tracks. Quickly L Plus’s reputation grew as a DJ in Slovakia and Czech republic where he played at different festivals, clubs and radio-shows and also around Europe. 2002 he won the Jim Beam DJ contest and became an owner of a pair of Technics turntables. The same year L Plus released his first promo vinyl and celebrated his release by playing in S. Petersburg.

Over the next few years his reputaion grew further when many top UK producers and DJ’s started playing his tunes and his name became more known in the international drum and bass circuit. 2007 was a break-through year for L Plus . He signed music to several labels including: Urban Takeover, Xporsure, Cymbalism, Intrinsic, Phunkfiction, Sidechain, First Generation and Robotix. He also collaborated with top Russian producer Paul B and MC Coppa on a track called ‘Danjaz’ which was played worldwide.

At the end of 2007 L Plus signed a track called ‘Middle East Sun’ to Futurebound’s Viper Records, and this was included on the mighty Andy C’s  ’Nightlife 4′ mix series and was released on RAM records. L PLUS became a part of the VIPER crew and signed more tunes for VIPER. After short break he released tunes in 2010 on Formation, Bad Monkey & Viper as well as  new collaborations and remixes.

In 2011 he signed exclusively to Technique Recordings / Worldwide Audio Recordings where he released his debut Timetravel EP and shortly after it remix of Tantrum Desire's Reach. 2012 started with the collab with Erb N Dub called Replica, followed by Gas Grenade and Catastrophe feat. Shaz Sparks, remixes of Crissy Criss's Let Go and John B's Lightspeed. 

L Plus has now released the four track Amazing EP including: Amazing, Taking Me Higher, Challenger, Close To You and has some new exciting material to unleash in 2012 and beyond.
