Waves is a generative sonification experiment with a Covid-19 hyperobject and related statistical data. It is a free musical interpretation of numbers, threateningly close and pathetically distant, elevated to a media cult and speaking a language common to all countries and peoples. The thematic context of the course allowed the author to consider health and telecom statistics on a timeline (Jan20-Mar21) as sensor data. The project is dedicated to exploration of the common "infection-death-restoration" + "self-isolation-index" daily databases through tonal and atonal interpretations. 

It is made on Processing within Wellen framework built by Dennis Paul and pursues a goal to bring an algorhytmic musical approach in communicating with data from the "COVID world" and our inner experience of perception.

Selector Millie McKee embarks on an eclectic journey through some of her most treasured records. Based in Bristol, Millie is one of the most illuminating diggers in the city, whose keen instinct for rock, jazz, funk and lots more spellbinding genre agnostic sounds have made her a DJ of note in a town full of DJs of note. 

Her open-hearted style and unapologetic expression were first spotted by Noods Radio, where she has built a growing pool of listeners. The popularity of her radio show has granted her a very busy year DJing around festivals and parties throughout the summer.

My Analog Journal: Millie McKee

Budgi Tumanligi spreads between the surface of the earth and clouds, reaches for clarity and spreads out in blur at the moment of imaginary attainment. The question when being influenced with this soundscape is: Who are you at the moment of being influenced, and above all, where?

Hagoromo is an one take session project using pitched down loops, filtered drum machines, multiple synthesis techniques and ambient noise manufacturing a thick slow carpet of sound to sink in.

The Dresden based sound science project Hagoromo is bringing together the two artists Fenta Flowers and heninspace, joining their passion for musical machine immersion. 
Since 2016 they keep wiring machines, senses and surrounding noises in order to create unforeseen musical results.

Close Bassiani collaborator and Georgian heavy hitter Kancheli is guest number three for experimental event series Zenaari’s new Mix. He’s also the third Bassiani/Horoom resident to contribute an episode, proof that the best dancefloor artists aren’t just focused on narrow category constraints but push themselves through deep sonic research and experimentation. The former percussionist and Jazz enthusiast takes inspiration for a wealth of different genres: though this particular junket is a detour from his usual Techno dispatches: a weird and wonderful exploration in sound that segues from warmer ambient melodies, to reflective monologues, through brooding instrumentals and insectlike clicks. A liminal rally of disparate and thought-provoking sounds from the Tbilisi mainstay and club resident.

Schnappschuss von der Erde (Snapshot of the Earth) premiered at the Institute of Contemporary Art, London, England in 2006 at the International Community of Auditory Display annual convention, and was reprised in 2010 in Washington D.C. It is a sonification of sociological statistics, (such as birthrate, infant mortality rate, GDP, military spending, CO2 emissions, literacy rates, etc.)plotted agains pitch and loudness. The data is also organized in 3-dimentional space where the sound event locations are determined by the longitude of each countries capital, rendered in 8-channel surround sound (reduced to stereo for soundcloud). It was composed in the Symbolic Composer software environment.
