Occupy Movement Conquers the Vatican

Yet forty years after the first enlargement, which saw the UK join the European Community, confidence in the European project seems to be at an all-time low. From enlargement fatigue within the EU to Russian overtures to Eastern European states and the fading prospects of Turkish accession, enlargement faces daunting challenges. In the context of the ongoing economic and political crises in the EU, we may well ask: Is EU Enlargement in crisis?Dimitar Bechev is a senior policy fellow and head of Sofia office of the European Council for Foreign Relations.Robert Cooper is a visiting professor at LSE IDEAS. The Future of EU Enlargement [Audio]

From 2001 to 2006 I lived Tokyo, drawn to Japan by films and music indelibly imprinted on my young mind. After a few years I gained a little proficiency in the language, mostly learned by hanging out with friends in Shimokitazawa and transcribing Nishioka Takashi and Happy End lyrics. I’m overdue for a trip back, but this gorgeous mix of Japanese private press acid folk compiled by Tyler Craft is taking me right there. Tyler has been collecting these fugitive, often hand-made releases for over a decade and last year co-founded the label First and Last to reissue these unjustly overlooked sounds, for the most part ignored in Japan as well. This mix combines a few deep cuts from his favorite artists with some intriguing new arrivals. Subarashi desu.

DJ Gaku is a Deep House DJ from Okinawa, Japan, based in Taipei.

Gaku has no interest in the mainstream. His musical foundation lies in Black music, which he has been immersed in since childhood, and he is dedicated to selecting minor and truly underground sounds. Since 2023, he has been organizing "Eden"a house music-focused party at Rabbit Hole in Taipei, striving to contribute to the city’s underground music scene.

In addition to personal works, I also compose background music for theaters and films. I focus environmental sounds can evoke fragments of memory in the listener. As a DJ, I play emotional dance tracks as base and mix sounds of festivals and traditional performing arts.
