Broadcast 15 inbound! For this edition of the Chorus Broadcast, we're flying over to the USA. Here we welcome rising talent, Code Abi. After being blown away by her diverse musical output over on @indigoradiony we knew we had to invite her as a guest on the Chorus Broadcast!

Climb aboard this hour long mix and take a trip as @codeabi drives you through broken beats, intricate percussion and glistening melodies. Her interesting selections and seamless mixing shows exactly why she's one of the most exciting young talents in the scene!

About Abi:

23 year old female music producer, DJ, filmmaker, and photographer from New Jersey. Abi started DJing in spring of 2019 and spent the rest of that year and beginning of 2020 playing in a handful of venues with her friends, Indigo Radio. They are an NYC based crew of young adults who host parties and raves centered around a wide range of dance music.

For our debut guest mix we welcome John Paynter - local chug legend and general nice dude. John’s library is testament to his wealth of experience as a DJ. He’s a regular face behind the dials at Beatherder festival and holds a residency down at the Outlaws Yacht Club, one of our favourite local venues (go check em out). 

Paisley Dark is John’s most recent excursion; this is the community/label behind ’Shelter Me’, a mind twisting 23 track remix album donating 100% of its proceeds to charity. With such a bounty of projects it's almost impossible for us to pick a favourite! However if you twisted our arm, we'd probably say John's long running radio show ‘A Space Age Freak Out’. This continues to inspire us 5 years on from its inception, sitting close to our hearts as a shining example of our favourite scene and music.

Label Co-Founder 'Swales' offers up his first release on the imprint with’ The House Vibe EP’. A feel good mixture of genuine house vibes guaranteed to make you move.

A1 - ‘I Can’t Let You Go’ kicks off the EP on a high with infectious vocals, brass stabs and jackin’ drums all tied together by a formidable piano arrangement.

A2 - ‘The One’ takes a sleazy turn into a flawless late night house cut. Featuring gritty Rhodes stabs and hypnotising vocals it describes the story of a personal connection to the music on the dance floor.

B1 - ‘Feel The Energy’ on the flip side ups the tempo once again and delivers the ideal combination of house and garage. Expect lush instrument licks and rolling drums perfect for any occasion.

B2 - ’Thinkin’ closes the EP. Last but most definitely not least, the track takes a decisively more mellow approach than the rest of the EP utilising chopped vocals, xylophone melodies and filtered chords. Perfect to tide you over until sunrise.

I know favouritism should be avoided but this next mix is one of the best we've had so far! Fast paced, high energy, gunfingers in full effect. It's impossible not to get pulled in throughout this infectious power hour provided by Abi Teixeira, aka code abi.  

Born in New Jersey, she now resides in NYC where she has an affiliation with Indigo Radio, as well as playing at a variety of venues throughout the city and performing out in Montreal.

Abi has been honing her production skills since 2014, but only took to the decks in 2019 where her sets are heavily influenced by her Caribbean ethnicity and her Jersey roots. You can check this out for yourself as well as her own wicked productions via the links below:

Mix 12 comes from a familiar face on the Leeds scene. @friedunderground has been around the block. He’s held residencies at Distrikt, Belgrave and KMAH radio, and of course played alongside us for our LMF party with Skatebard. 

Fried’s contribution to the mix series is a sneak preview into a project which has been brewing in lockdown. His mix takes us on a much needed voyage, spanning the spiritual spectrum of down tempo acid and electronica chug.
