Beyond the Black Stump

Autumn is the season, journeying for what seemed like a fortnight, the path was finally unveiled in it's glory. Upon its travels however, the path and it's surroundings weren't as described as through it's passages. It's much too late, you already lie off the beaten path.

The existence of dark matter is inferred from its gravitational effects on visible matter, such as galaxies and galaxy clusters. Dark Matter

The state of purgatory, refers to a condition of being in a state of uncertainty, limbo, or a transitional phase where progress or resolution is slow or unclear. It can imply a feeling of being stuck or in a state of prolonged waiting, often accompanied by a sense of discomfort or unease.

"Lost signal" refers to a situation where a communication link or connection between devices, systems, or individuals is abruptly interrupted or becomes unavailable. This can occur in various contexts, such as in telecommunications, electronic devices, or even in metaphorical terms to describe a breakdown in communication or understanding.

In a metaphorical sense, "lost signal" can describe a breakdown in communication between people. For instance, if two individuals are not understanding each other or are having difficulty connecting on an emotional level, one might say there is a "lost signal" between them.

Defect

A lone figure stands sentinel atop a snow-covered ridge under a starless sky. The air is frigid, each breath a visible puff that quickly dissipates into the night. The only sounds are the soft crunch of boots on frozen ground and the distant howl of wind weaving through skeletal trees. Cloaked in layers of dark wool and fur, the watchman grips a weathered spear, his eyes scanning the horizon for any sign of movement. The world feels suspended in time, as if the night itself holds its breath.
