Introduction

this is the album Los Appalachianos, by Lua Project, recorded as part of a Mellon Foundation project, in collaboration with Monuments Across Appalachian Virginian (MAAV) and the Virginia Tech Center for Rural Education, in which the artists interviewed Latine immigrants of the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia (USA), and wrote songs about their (and their own families') stories. A blend of Appalachian soundscapes with Latin rhythms, and beautiful bi-lingual songs.

A blend of original traditional inspired by folk music of Mexico, Appalachia, and the Atlantic Basin.
