Estela and Dave interviewed a number of individuals and families of Latine origin in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. These interviews and stories from their family history inspired songs that they have recorded on the ‘Los Appalachianos’ album.

this is the album Los Appalachianos, by Lua Project, recorded as part of a Mellon Foundation project, in collaboration with Monuments Across Appalachian Virginian (MAAV) and the Virginia Tech Center for Rural Education, in which the artists interviewed Latine immigrants of the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia (USA), and wrote songs about their (and their own families') stories. A blend of Appalachian soundscapes with Latin rhythms, and beautiful bi-lingual songs.
