This became a refuge whenever I was afraid, whenever I laughed for no reason, whenever I cried worried, whenever I felt disconnected. During this strange time, I have found my lifeline in music once again.

After releasing a first glimpse in the form of the ‘Atomos VII’ EP earlier this year, A Winged Victory For The Sullen finally reveal their second full-length album entitled ‘Atomos’, which besides familiar piano, string and drone sounds also sees the duo introduce flurries of electronics, harp and modular synthesisers.

Wayne McGregor, founder of Random Dance Company and resident choreographer at the Royal Ballet, chose to play the album repeatedly during practices with his core group of dancers. After noticing the group's reaction with the music, he contacted Adam and Dustin to see if they could write the score for his new oeuvre. The duo were given complete artistic freedom and they treated the score with the same care and attention as their debut album. They recorded more than sixty minutes of music over a four-month period during the summer of 2013 across studios in Brussels, Berlin and Reykjavik, with the help of their long time collaborative sound engineer Francesco Donadello. During the recording process they realised, that this would become their official second studio album. McGregor provided them with the inspiration to expand their sound palette into more electronic territory, whilst keeping their signature chamber sound, resulting in a very unique record.

Astral projection (or astral travel) is an interpretation of an out-of-body experience (OBE) that assumes the existence of an "astral body" separate from the physical body and capable of travelling outside it. Astral projection or travel denotes the astral body leaving the physical body to travel in an astral plane. The idea of astral travel is rooted in common worldwide religious accounts of the afterlife in which the consciousness' or soul's journey or "ascent" is described in such terms as "an... out-of body experience, wherein the spiritual traveller leaves the physical body and travels in his/her subtle body (or dreambody or astral body) into ‘higher’ realms. It is frequently reported in association with dreams, and forms of meditation.

Patients have reported feelings similar to the descriptions of astral projection induced through various hallucinogenic and hypnotic (including self-hypnotic) means. There is no scientific evidence that there is any measurable manifestation of a consciousness or soul which is separate from neural activity, and there is no scientific evidence for the contention that one can consciously leave the body and make observations. Attempts to verify that such has occurred have consistently failed in spite of the variety of pseudoscientific claims to the contrary.

The title is the exact hour in which, on April 6th 2009, an earthquake occured in L'Aquila, destroying  part of the city and changing its very soul forever.
The track is meant to be an homage to the victims memory and, at the same time, a hymn to life for whom has survived and found the strength to react.

Alphaxone, ProtoU and Onasander join forces on Shadows of Forgotten Legends. Ancient behemoths lurk in black waters on this sub-ambient album.

According to Nordic legends, the Kraken was a mythological creature that was terrorizing sailors from Greenland to Norway. By emerging from deep sea, the giant beast was shattering vessels with huge tentacles and devouring entire crews.

"Shadows of forgotten legends" draws a new sonic path to invoke this ancient Scourge of the Seas, awakening it from deep sleep.

Fresh out of the Black Room Studio in Kiev, the third album in Dronny Darko's sound design heavy trilogy is a continuation of his dark and minimalist sound.

The giant womb and pulsating walls breathes with you, slurping red liquid through fleshy tubes. The quivering membrane squirts goo as you tear through it, facing blinding light outside.

Italian composer and pianist Luca Longobardi represents the generation of classically trained musicians who incorporate the language of contemporary electronic music into their pieces, which are furthermore strongly connected to the multimedia arts. Born in 1976, Longobardi studied classical music in Italy and New York and went on to earn his doctorate in digital audio restoration in Rome in 2011. His works reveal a strong interaction between classical and contemporary music. The experience he has gained as a theatre musician has increased his interest in the relationship between sounds and spectacle; he has composed music for ballets and films and accompanied installations and experimental art productions (Atelier de Lumières - Paris, Carrières de Lumières - Baux-de-Provence, Kunstkraftwerk - Leipzig). At his multimedia performances and in his recordings, strongly experimental electronic music meets pure, ethereal and simple-seeming piano playing that nevertheless relays deep emotions.
