Sidney Charles & Santé have teamed up again to forge the 'Forever EP’ on Hot Creations with Russ Yallop on remix duty. Those that have witnessed their epic sets playing together will know the vibrant energy they create and this latest offering stands stead to them.

The title track ‘Forever’ uses dynamic claps, an indelible beat and a simple but effective vocal that ties all the elements together. With a playful production technique at its heart, this is a cut made for summertime. Things get a little darker with ‘Mogli’, morphing high-pitched, glitchy sounds alongside a hissing beat. On the flip side, Russ Yallop remixes ‘Forever’ to make the whole track bounce with a heavy and thick bassline.

Hamburg-born Sidney Charles has only been releasing music for four years but has already had a string of successes on labels such as 8bit, Moda Black, AVOTRE and VIVa. Berlin-based Santé is also involved with all areas of music as he DJ’s, produces, and is building on his own record label AVOTRE. Sidney Charles & Santé have previously released on Hot Creations with ‘All Night Long’ on the ‘Hot Summer Jams’ album.

Russ Yallop is a key member of the underground house scene and  is no stranger to Hot Creations; he has previously released ‘Traffic’ and ‘System Crank’ with them, whist also regularly DJing at their worldwide events. He is also an established member of the Crosstown Rebels family after first releasing with them in 2010.

3 QUESTIONS to SOUL BUTTON:

Q) You've established Steyoyoke as a well known music label worldwide. What was the inspiration or philosophy behind this?

A) I honestly don't consider Steyoyoke as just a music label. I think it has a strong art concept as well. It's a brand and it's family. Our main goal is to produce great quality music. Music meant as art and not a product. Steyoyoke consists of 6 amazing artists whom I also consider as good friends. We work together and create projects that sometimes goes beyond music.

Q) I heard you're going to start a new project that will help children in Africa? Please tell us more. 

A) This has been my dream since I was very young. I was hoping to become rich one day and be able to help children who don't even have clean water to drink. But, I never became rich. So, a few months ago I thought to myself, I may not have the money but I have a lot of followers. Maybe I could involve other people and artists who also have a lot of followers. I see so much ego in the music business and I think that the music industry could use a break from the business/marketing aspect and focus on a good cause. If labels worldwide could make an EP and clubs throw a party with all the proceeds going to Africa, we can make a difference. If everyone could just contribute in some way, we could seriously make some child or even an entire village live a better life. I also want to connect this project with the house music scene, because I think this scene needs a lesson in humanity.

Q) So, what's next for Soul Button – any album plans?

A) Yes, but I decided to take August off to rest my body, my soul and my brain. I will start the long journey towards my new album the following month. I don't want to put just music and tracks together in one CD or in one “cold” digital release. I want to create a concept which will have a positive impact.

For podcast number 24 we bring it down a notch to bring you the slo-mo groove of the underground. 40 Thieves is a San Francisco based dance music collective consisting of Corey Black, Layne Fox and Jay WIlliams (aka Jaswho?) who has been creating their magic since 2005. You might know know their remake of the obscure 70's disco classic by Hot Chocolate, 'Don't Turn It Off (feat. Qzen), which was named #2 in 2009's track of the year by DJHistory.com, and also landed at the top of Beatport's best of the decade in 2010. Their musical output can range from psychedelic disco and blues to proto-house, acid and beyond, but regardless of the genre, a 40 Thieves track is always embedded with enough funk, groove and sex appeal to keep the most stubborn dancefloor moving along. We were lucky enough to secure a rare mix from Layne Fox who, under his new moniker Musik Nonstop, will represent the Thieves' on his debut Mexican tour (and if you're Down Under, don't forget to catch Corey Black on his debut Australian tour later this month). Don’t play too loud: This mix will induce involuntary dancing to anyone within a mile radius of it...

Deep, vocally and nudisco-fuelled, the sets and records mixed and produced by Swiss duo Adriatique have what it takes to sail off into the sunset. Meeting in 2008, the two DJs -- both called Adrian, by the way -- fused and morphed into a bigger better self, behind the decks, and in the studio. Their EP on OFF Records, produced with label stable mate Thyladomid, was an instant winner, and their releases, on labels such as their mothership Diynamic, 2DYI4, Wolf+Lamb Black, Cityfox and Culprit LA always reflect their solemn love for emotional house music. Opening new horizons by discovering their differences and overcoming them, the self-proclaimed brothers share almost everything, but also manage to maintain a healthy distance, something that can be felt on the dancefloor. Their set for Meoko overflows with vocal packed songs, and extroverted glam combined with a down-to-earth friskiness. Right into your heart.
