Luca Bacchetti - Robot Heart - Burning Man 2023

For me, Burning Man signifies entering a dimension of freedom and maximum expression, a place where I can take risks but also the ideal spot to play my favorite music, not necessarily dance music. I remember finishing my set at the camp where I had set up, then biking under the scorching sun towards DISTRIKT. A pleasant sandstorm swept over me as I pedaled to reach the opposite side of the playa... the magic fueled by a small bottle of mezcal and there I am at the controls of one of my favorite sound camps... I cherish these moments, the scents, the embraces, the gazes, and smiles of the audience. Music is magic, but even more so, a mystery!

"I have no words to explain the mix of feelings and emotions I felt when I received the invitation to play at White Ocean. Knowing all my favourite DJs and producers, including some of my biggest inspirations and idols would be there as well, made the experience the biggest honour of my musical career to date.

 The reality of this opportunity did not set in until I was finally up on the decks getting ready to hit the play button… 

After struggling for a few years to obtain my US visa, sharing this moment with the White Ocean family on the first night of my first Burn was surreal.

This is my small, yet very meaningful contribution to the stage I’ve always loved and admired. The memories of that night will be forever in my heart. I still dream of that beautiful crowd, and the energy of that night.

a mix that i have been wanting to assemble for a long while and it finally came to fruition as i was perched by the pacific ocean in the company of wolves and hawks. the distant sound of the waves crashing far below permeates my experience. the fog and rain and wild ocean compliment these sounds. i could have called this the existential crisis mix, or the grief mix or the nervous breakdown mix. a mostly beatless journey through ambient/neoclassical compositions, it's dramatic and emotional and noisy, uplifting and depressing, dark and beautiful{to me}. i hope it finds you in the right place and time.

I cannot forget that night, I still have goosebumps when I think of it, thanks to all those who were there!! It was a truly unforgettable night! We were as one! 
When I started my DJ career I would never have though one day to play in such a unique place, I’ve been in so many places around the world but this is the place where I enjoy playing the most… I feel blessed but at the same time a responsibility which comes with a pleasant tension: To deliver and share the best I have to say through music. 
I’m also glad to share new material with you from my upcoming album ’Secret World', out October 2019! Enjoy!
