Song Description – “Dancing With Angels”

“Dancing With Angels” is a deeply personal and heartbreaking piece that began as a meditation on one of the most profound moments in Scripture — Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane. After the Last Supper, Christ prayed in anguish on the Mount of Olives, submitting to the Father’s will before Judas’ betrayal. That image of surrender, pain, and isolation was the original inspiration for this track.

But as the song evolved, its meaning transformed from the Biblical to the deeply personal. What began as a reflection on Jesus’ anguish became something far closer to home — the sad and true story of a young man, a troubled soul dear to our hearts, who tragically took his own life in 2005 in an attempt to escape his inner demons. The lyrics became his final farewell, a cry for forgiveness, freedom, and peace. The angels who guide him now are his late father, Ray, and his late grandfather, Len.

Originally recorded for my debut album Time Machine – Reflecting Shattered Dreams in 2014, this 2025 AI reimagining breathes new life into the song’s haunting orchestration and raw emotion. It now stands as both a lament and a tribute.

This version is dedicated to my dear cousin Kris: How can it be that 20 years have already passed since we last spoke? I’m sorry I couldn’t find the right words to heal you (save you). Rest in peace dear cousin Kris. See you on the other side. x

“Horizon Memory” explores the dissolution of identity and reality, where past, future, self, and world blur into one shifting continuum. The song’s imagery of doors in air, cities inside stone, and forests of glass suggests a dreamlike landscape where memory and possibility are inseparable, and nothing holds a fixed form. The horizon serves as both boundary and mirror — bending endlessly, containing every beginning and end at once. Ultimately, the song suggests that individuality dissolves into a collective existence, where the dreamer and the dream are the same, and memory itself becomes the architecture of reality. It is both disorienting and transcendent, offering release from blueprints and permanence into an infinite, fluid horizon.
