Que Sakamoto is a DJ and producer who has become Japan’s latest export to the world. From his deep roots in the Tokyo underground, he finds himself outside Japan most of the year on his relentless tours of Europe, Asia, Australia and the Americas.

Didgeridoo trance, videogame vibes, vicious jungle, and proper dirty boner electronica await LAYEREd in his two-hour selection for WPD. 

From Que’s first international booking in 2014 by 65MQ in Milan, Italy arose a series of invitations around Europe. Neil Diablo invited him to the U.K. where he played with Craig Richards, Fabric resident, and Dave Harvey, Future Boogie. Then an invitation from Harry James, Snap Crackle & Pop (SC&P), to play the Waiting Room with Brézier, Ivan Smagghe and Rupert Cross. From the U.K. invitations led to Belgium, France, Turkey, Lithuania and a tour-of-sorts across Europe was born.

Lithuania plays a pivotal role in Que Sakamoto’s DJ career. Especially his connection to Club Opium and Manfredas who hammered in a wooden signpost with Que Sakamoto’s name on it in 2020, two years after his mythical set at the Ant Bangos festival in 2018 at the Port of Nida, which sky-rocketed his career as an emerging artist. At this festival he met Joakim who introduced him to New York City where he played many gigs like the Good Room and also did a radio show for Tim Sweeney on Beats In Space.

Disolver! Presenta a Thomas Stück AKA El-Praah, DJ y productor de Copenhague, Dinamarca. 
Selector ecléctico, creador de Club Juma y la serie de mixes con el mismo nombre. Introduce su podcast para disolver, en sus propias palabras: “Fue grabado durante el invierno del año pasado, en plena pandemia, donde los días eran fríos y oscuros; Me gustaba manejar mi bici por los parques en la noche mientras escuchaba el mix, con las luces de la ciudad de fondo y las siluetas de los árboles en contraluz”.  Aunque él lo considera un mix invernal, también funciona para los días de verano, con un sonido lento y amplio que se va iluminando conforme llegamos al final. “Es como si el tiempo corriera bien lento cuando te sientes solo y piensas en las personas que quieres”. Finalmente Praah nos deja una recomendación: escuchar el mix en el atardecer para máximo efecto.

As @philipp-demankowski told his good friend @cover-1 about his plan to screen the Library Music Film in the fine local boutique cinema Thalia, the Dresden DJ-force wasn’t only interested in watching the movie but also in contributing a mix to the project. That was very fitting as the digger with a never-ending passion for discovering new music has just lately dived deep into the inexhaustible vastness of library music. Therefore, it was a great opportunity to compile some of his latest findings and favorite records from the genre. The result is a trip into the wonderful world of library music under the name of “Bibliothèque électronique”.
