Following the release of “Call Me On The Regular” on Laut & Luise earlier this year, Luca Musto returns with a brand-new EP to kick off his own label : Rare Affair.

“[RA001]” is a rhythmic reminder to carry on in trying times. With two tracks that contrast each other in tempo and mood, “Restless” provides euphonious evidence that even a pandemic can’t stop the creative mind. Whether you prefer to move slowly like the groove in Priscillo or quickly as in Restless, the EP encourages everyone to keep on going.

Hypnotic pulses guide you through realms of deep techno, dark grooves, and ethereal atmospheres. Organic basslines pulse like a heartbeat, while dark tensions build and release in a cascade of sonic energy. This is a journey through sound, where every beat carries the weight of the unknown, and every texture beckons you deeper into the abyss.

DAVE SCOTT (David La Maestra): it is called "a goblin". DJ since 1989, blends his artistic journey between various contaminations, including performances by vocalist and radio speaker. The turn comes in 2003, when he begins to approach the discography through the "The PhunKaDelix" project together with Joe Addicted (Giuseppe Acunzo, sound engineer and DJ). The buzz ride is in 2008, when Nick Morris himself "enlisted" with himself. There are a number of projects that see him as a composer: QLab, Inner Blue, Nick Morris & Dave Scott, TML (with Daniele Tignino), and others. His battle horse is compositive experimentation, creative trick, ... work done always speaks to him even only through a vocal or a sample. Lovers of oldschool sound, his culture ranges from all that jazz and disco to experimental, to electronic music, to a more "raw" sound of German garage productions (Max Graef, IMYRMind, Glenn Astro). His references are the Kraftwerk, Marshall Jefferson, and Jan Michelle Jarre.

Luca Musto is an enthusiast of soul, jazz and blues, his electronic music/’slow- house’ oozes of grooving beats and hypnotizing melodies. With his Italian roots reflecting rhythms through cracks in a musical mirror, these cozy, grounded atmospheres will set you up to lay back, relax, and dance: this paradox perhaps best encapsulates the complexity of Musto’s grooves. 

Where other artists rely on established formulas and resort to complacency, Musto embodies the opposite. Based in the dungeons of Berlin, he coalesces the city’s unique musical footprint with his own nuances and projects them into his music as a symphony of impressions. His catalogue merges the resilience of modernity with authenticity and the musical preferences of our generation with subtlety, so that it never feels to be listening to just another record. 

Instead, it invokes in fans of electronic music a feeling of familiarity and expertise, which is reflected in his creative sampling and merging influences. With each new release, the listener can’t help but notice that Luca doesn’t take his talent for granted, but as basis for higher aspirations.
