Techno, Art, and Technology. 


I've been involved in Techno since early 1993, and spent a lot of time between 92' and 01' driving from Boston to NYC (and back) chasing a specific sound, and as it turned out was able to be a part of some pretty memorable Techno events. Many warehouse parties hosted by Sonic Groove, Mental Unity / Electronik Underground, and others throughout those decades. 


After 2001 the Techno scene pretty much collapsed for a few years in NYC, due to issues related to the Sept 11th attacks, such as artists having issues obtaining a US visas, the world economy, pointless wars, and a collectively paranoid government. Boston (my home) never really had a well established Techno scene before 2012 or so. 


My first, honest introduction to underground Techno began in 1993, Manchester N.H. Thanks to N.E.A.U. ("New England Acid Underground", circa 1993-95) which then became N.E.W. ("New England Works", circa 1995-2001) which focused on pure, underground Techno sound & experience by hosting many epic, outlaw warehouse parties, and formed a solid base for a diverse group of people, from various backgrounds, many of which I had grown close to in those years. 


This collectively represented what I felt was my "home base" at the time, fulfilling my strict preferences within electronic music, and of course the quality of the people, & the Techno experience. A good link with the Sonic Groove crew down in NYC between 1993 and 2000 had been forged through great events rooted in a "music & human experience first" approach and purpose. I learned a lot about music, DJing & the beauty of pure Techno's hands-on approach, adaptability, & re-usablity. 


Pure Techno is a powerful, "language agnostic" form of communication and connection via a shared emotional journey that's tethered to the art of sound. Without any single person needing to say a word, a true collective experience is often realized. 


I'll never forget that early Manchester, NH scene, or all of the people involved that helped to establish it each in their own way, nor will I forget all of the amazing people in New York City who welcomed us, shared with us some unbelievable sounds, hosted some of the most memorable events, and hosted such a dizzying array of talented artists from around the globe. 


I'm still plugged into Techno today, of course, & it's health is better than ever. But established collectives are harder to come by in Boston, & many from NYC have moved on to Europe where they can make a living and thrive in it's long-established Techno scenes. 


Thankfully one of the most active and Techno focused groups has been doing great things in the Boston area over the last six or seven years or so (INFRA Boston), and doing more than I can recall being done in the last 30 years for sure. It is good to know that after so many decades, Techno is still breaking new ground in places like Boston.


I've been quite active in releasing recorded sets of my own, of online live-streams, home mixes, mixes inspired by friends, by shared experiences over three-plus decades. 


I started DJing thirty two years ago because I feel in love with pure Techno. That motivation is as strong toda. y

Luca Redivo is an Amsterdam-based audio engineer and DJ/producer who goes by the alias R/D/V. Known for his inclination to introspective, driving and textural sound, Luca channels his energy into crafting hypnotic techno and ambient music.

As part of his creative journey, R/D/V has recently released music via labels like [R]3volution, TMM and Analog Solutions, while also performing and taping podcasts for renowned organisations such as Tresor, Acquario, and Résilience.

Beyond his artistic contribution, Luca is deeply involved in the technical side of audio. He engineers at multiple studios and live venues, whilst partaking in collaborative projects that push the boundaries of sonic exploration.

Spanish techno/hypnotic-techno Dj, Ignacio Cuéllar Abascal, born in Madrid in 1990 with great spain projection 🇪🇸

 Creativity, feeling and passion for hard, forceful and deep rhythms conform the particular style of his productions.
 He seeks to surprise with a totally new and promising concept, bringing out the sounds he has inside, mixing software and analog instruments, to create the perfect atmosphere to enjoy techno at its best.

 Releasing his music on labels such as Asphixia Records, TMM Recordings, Diffuse Reality, Not play Records, Rawsery, Loopaina Records, among others.
 His music has been played in emblematic places by high level artists.

 In 2022 he joins two partners to create a label (Loopaina Records) where he currently works as a producer.
 At the beginning of 2023 his own label Ethnic Meeting Label is born, where creativity, nature and the deepest and most atmospheric sounds are the protagonists
