Namaste Death Cult is a shimmering, hallucinogenic concept-album that feels like a ritual disguised as a rave and a rave disguised as a ritual. It blends 60s psychedelic mysticism, Chemical Brothers-esque big-beat electronica, and ceremonial mantra-music into a single, spiralling spiritual-club odyssey.

Across 11 tracks, the album charts a loose narrative:
awakening → invitation → initiation → transcendence → dissolution → rebirth.

It’s both cosmic and intimate, ancient yet electronic, full of analogue warmth, reversed-guitar haze, tape-dream ambience, chopped vocal mantras, and breakbeat pressure that swells like a breathing temple.

Counterterraism Guest Mix 12: Octave Marbot

Paisley Dark Radio Show with special guest Ian Vale -  23.01.21  on Rising Edge Radio.
Ian’s entry point into formal DJ’ing goes back well over 30 years. Having been bitten by the bug when taking over the home hi-fi system at frequent family house parties, he took advantage of a good family record collection and started to make ‘mix tapes’ for friends full of soul, funk, freestyle and disco, thrown together with 80’s new wave and early electro.
Fast forward to the late 80’s and rave and house music exploding in London, Ian found himself behind the decks and promoting his own nights in clubs and bars in East London and Essex. The next step was radio and a regular show on notorious Essex pirate station, Unity 88.4FM, prompting a name change to Ian Davy to avoid unwanted attention from the authorities.
More club gigs, radio stations and a 12” release later and Ian’s sets began to feature harder-edged techno alongside house and garage, eventually encompassing early Big Beat and breaks and the range of tempo’s that came with it. Ian and his wife went on to run their record label Backroom Records into the early 2000’s, lovingly releasing 12’s from the Big Beat and Nu-Skool Breaks spectrum, also co-running club night Global:beats in Camden with Jay Cunning (of Kiss FM). It was during this period that Ian played gigs across the UK, in Europe and as far afield as Hong Kong.
After a break in clubbing, DJ’ing and producing, a trip to a small festival in 2012 reignited dormant passions and the need to play music to the masses. Having moved to Norfolk, Ian started to play at bars and parties around Norwich as a regular at city centre pubs and bars as well as providing supporting slots for visiting well known DJ’s to the area.

Ed's first London Club experience in 1989 at a basement hotel in Paddington with Weatherall at the helm, changed his life forever.
Ed has a long history of promoting Underground parties around London and beyond, embracing the do it yourself attitude of club promotion in warehouses, scruffy basements, boats and film studios, whilst championing the darker side of house and techno with Twistedfunk & Wriggle.
Some brief “commercial” production success in the noughties, sent him running back to the nearest warehouse where his taste remains…
His current focus is broadcasting, and the curation of his global fortnightly podcast “sonic Service” championing a world class roster of DJ’s and producers that remain true to the underground sound of House & Techno.
2021 will finally see some new solo production output  as digital renegade as well as a new partnership with Microstate music.
