It’s only been one year since Ireland’s Rebuke put out his first release, yet his original sound has already catapulted him to the top of the class, and he makes his debut on Dirtybird with a two track EP, “Jump Ship”. 

The unique way Rebuke uses percussion alongside rolling bass and 90’s-era stabs on “Jump Ship” immediately grabbed our attention, and the cascading drums over the big bottom bass of “The Pipe” is a striking piece of music that won’t go unnoticed in any set.

The next EP on the label comes from Berlin based producers Joyce Muniz (@joytoy) and @Namito. A few years ago we invited Joyce to play play our annual Desert Hearts Festival after she remixed Mikey Lion and Sabo's track "Sally". Needless to say, she absolutely smashed the festival and we've kept in touch with her over the years. During our recent trip to Berlin, we reconnected with her firecracker personality and a few weeks later we had an amazing EP in our inbox from her and Namito.

This time around the roles are reversed, with label boss @MikeyLion turning in a banging remix of the title track.

-How long have you been creating music?

I have been creating music for about 7/8 years.

-What do you use to make your tracks?

I use a variety of things. I use Ableton live as a DAW; pots, pans, dog barks, and some synths for noises.

-How and when did you first discover Dirtybird?

I remember Dirtybird in its infancy. I bought this record because of the dudes name and title of the record. Claude Von Stroke - Deep Throat. LOL  I thought it was dope.

-Which Dirtybird artist would you want to collaborate with the most?

This is a tough question, I like the idea of making music with other people. I have also learned that you can just admire an artist without having to work with them. With that said, Justin Jay , to me is an amazing producer. I wouldn’t mind doing a record with him.

-If your entire life was a movie, what title would best describe you?

A Stir of Echos

-What’s the best concert you’ve ever been to?

2006 Coachella

-If you could time travel, where and when would you go?

I have been in this situation before; so, the 80’s, Los Angeles, in my mature form so i can go party. =)

-What species of bird best describes you and why?

Cassowary. Because of the low wobbs like rumblies.

-What does Dirtybird mean to you?

Hmmm… Dirtybird is that start of something new for me. A long, bass heavy prosperous, journey.
