500 followers, holy shit. Honestly never really thought I'd get that much. Don't know how it happened, exactly, but at the end of the day? I'm genuinely grateful! I'm glad that that many people are entertained by my work, and I'd hope to continue expanding that audience as I keep on honing my craft. I'm glad you're all here.

As for the song itself! It's a cover of @airenn171's take on a Gaster boss theme, which in turn is based heavily on Toby Fox's old "Dream Devourer" fan-song he made for Chrono Trigger. Given that it's both badass and a bit heartfelt, I figured it'd make a good song for the occasion. Plus, I've just been dying to make a Gaster fight theme for a while now, haha.

i'm surprised this side of the community is still going, even though a lot of people have moved on to either FNF, or something else.

as for me well there are still some megalos and tracks i wanna give a go before stopping on undertale stuff for a while (at least until the next deltarune chapter comes out lol). anyways, thank you all for giving my stuff a listen. i doubt i'll ever become that good at making tunes, so i just want to give my thanks for giving them along with my little covers a chance.

With the reveal of Undyne's new form, I thought I'd step back a bit and ponder if Trial by Water really fit the theme of her fight. The answer is it didn't. I've seen a few people (namely Saster and Vtroll) doing this and I had this old project laying around. Most of it was already SGM, so I figured the remaining stuff could easily be converted into SGM instruments. While the mixing is probably a little rough around the edges since I've not changed all that much to the existing mixing (as I only mixed what instruments i changed and added or instruments that just had zero mixing), I'm still really proud of how this turned out. It was a fun experiment and I hope you all enjoy the end result.

Lancer and Chaos King motifs were used because of Rouxls' connection with both of them.
Field of Hopes and Dreams was used because... not sure, honestly i thought it would've sounded nice with the rest of the song imo so i just went with it

After 200 followers and 55 tracks, this account finally gets its first Megalo.

First off, the sick new thumbnail is by @shinyemerrald , and the Aftergore logo is by @repeatsc and Toadie
Thanks as always to them for their wonderful work.

“SO WHAT’S WITH THE NAME?” I hear you ask.
“Speicide” isn’t a word, but rather a pseudo-word made up of Latin roots. 6 years of education put to good use, amiright?
All the “-cide” words originate from Latin roots, with “sui” relating to self, “geno” relating to group, “matri” relating to mother, “regi” relating to king, et cetera.
“spes” is the Latin word for hope.
So “speicide” would literally mean “the killing of hope.”
Humanity gave the Underground a glimmer of hope for once, only for it to be violently snatched away from them.

This took some inspiration from the first version of Our Broken Constellations, as that Megalo manages to be an intense fight theme while also capturing a more somber mood.

I don’t know what to say, really. I wasn’t sure we’d ever get here, but I’m happy we did. I think people are quick to rag on the community for being Megalo-centric, and while Toadie and I both think it is a bit much, I think it’s really a testament to the unsung greatness of this community that this account amassed 200 followers without a single Megalo. Don’t forget that, any of you. You don’t need to be the next Drop or churn out stuff you hate to gain a following. It’s all about patience and persistence. Staying determined, that’s what Undertale taught us best, eh?

Thank you to all of you for following this initially experimental account. I’m so honored, and I know Toadie is too. We’ll continue to make content for you to enjoy, and even though we finally posted a Megalo, it doesn’t mean this’ll happen super often. We treat Megalovania like any other track, we just wanted to wait this long to finally upload one. So stay tuned, I’m pretty sure you’ll like what’s coming down the pipeline.

And most importantly, thank you above all to @dashingtoadie-the-sequel, for being a blessing to this community and a constant joy to work with. You are without a doubt my best friend in this community, and the true hero of this account. I love ya, ya wonderful void person.
