Vessels' original incarnation for "Elliptic" was quite something. Not normally known for their forays into electronica, the rock band's new direction could have sent them down the one way street to oblivion. Instead, the outcome was 8mins of true hypnotic bliss; sounds that were custom-built for that eyes-shut, euphoric passage on the dance floor.

The band’s 3rd album Dilate was recently signed to Different Records and gets re-released in 2016 with a caboodle of extra edits and remixes. One of those remixes happens to be by Ross Tones aka Throwing Snow. Grounded, or should we say lifted by that same somniferous feel, the makeover is amped by a puffier drum and low-end backbone. The movement is transformed from starry-eyed rapture to head-nodding beatitude — music for the mid-night rush and beautifully done at that.

SOundScape #094 System Of Survival

SOundScape is a project started off as a mixtape series of eclectic selection of sounds curated by System Of Survival. Encompassing a wide musical spectrum has born with the intention of displaying influences, sounds and rhythms often left out a dancefloor orientated set. 
SOundScape is a show broadcasted by the popular IBIZA SONICA RADIO every Friday from 1.00pm to 2.00pm CET. The spirit is obviously the same: guests have the liberating opportunity to play WHATEVER inspires them. Listening to these unrestricted sets by notable DJs will be one more time an experience not to be missed.

@bawrut has had an amazing couple of years. Since kicking our label off back in 2015 with the modern acid classic 'Ciquita' (12”s of which will now set you back silly money on Discogs), the Madrid-based producer has gone from strength to strength.

We’re proud to kickstart Bawrut’s 2018 with '4x4', a brand new EP of typically leftfield bangers. These four tracks come on like a whirlwind journey through a Bawrut DJ set, with something for every time of the night. 'Ghettoscar' fuses African chants with burbling acid, building the kind of goodtime dancefloor warmth Bawrut is famed for. 'More Cowbell' does exactly what you’d expect, giving DJs a glorious, cowbell-powered disco bomb that fuses the spirit of Incredible Bongo Band with classic NYC house. 'I Hear Voices' is a crazy ride, with an expertly cut up vocal sample repurposed into a weird, descending riff that’s quite unlike anything else out there. Throw in Bawrut’s trademark kitbag of carnival whistles, rattling Latin percussion and a creeping acid line that works itself up into a soul-salving joy and you’ve got a modern classic on your hands. 

Finally, lead track 'Three Sounds' is probably Bawrut’s biggest moment to date; a peak time jacking techno monster built from the most minimal of elements - drums, claps, a one note bass squelch and a tom drum gone wild. Bawrut takes this tom sound and treats it like a 303, pushing far off the rails, working it up and up, twisting it through pitch and frequency like a man possessed, raising its pressure ‘til it tears off the roof. There’s no one else making techno quite like it - and you can expect dancefloors to be going crazy to the mania of 'Three Sounds' throughout 2018... 

So there you have it - four more missives from the wizard of Madrid. Play ‘em loud.

R$N#13 - Bawrut - 4x4 (track previews)

Today's premiere comes courtesy of @spazio-palazzo, a self-described "pizza mandolino duo" from Milan. They've done an amazing re-edit of Italian pop icon Lucio Battisti, which has been receiving heavy support from the likes of Bawrut, Autarkic and Moscoman.

While the original used to be a staple in Villalobos sets, Spazio Palazzo's version adds in creeping, lysergic drums and eerie ambience to create a slo-mo epic with its own strange presence.

Luca Vera, Italian DJ and producer comes to life in the late seventies in a small city between Rome and Naples.

He starts tasting music during his childhood in the eighties, quickly acquires a strong passion for the Italian disco then comes to musical maturity during the nineties with the explosion of house music for which he starts living.

That love becomes so strong that it that makes him want to experience the thrill of the decks. This passion lives and persists for over twenty years now and maintains his mood in a continuum of emotions that lead him to face every experience as if it was the first time.

After years on stage he plunges into the world of production in order to approach music in a more profound way which pushes him to always experiment and try something new that differentiates him.

The desire to do something new and different and to search for creation in hidden corners of music completes his growth and musical maturity, making him a complete artist with knowledge that he can face the reality of this world as a veteran while still keeping the desire to discover of a child. He has recently begun his journey as Label Manager of his record label "Spazio Tempo", born with the aim of expressing himself and making artists express their point of view through songs conveying the idea of boundless music, without barriers or stereotypes.
