Emerging as a clear symbol in a daydream at night, Laomo Sik is a shadow self, an awareness which navigates through a multitude of galaxies. Laomo Sik is a vessel that travels on the sound waves of bright sun or dark vastness on a mission to explore and reveal. 

Laomo Sik's 3rd EP “Mekanikl Animals” is a venture into exactly these territories of unexplored dream states, where logic, rationality and organized time are merely ideas swimming near you under the blinking flashing stars, as would the white dolphins, carefully watching from behind in a cosmic black sea. 

Laomo Sik is a musical project that centers around ambient soundscapes, drone fields and other abstractions. Through intuitive and momentary interactions with a selection of analog studio equipment, found instruments and the like, Mathias allows for the immediacy of creation and creativity in his compositions as Laomo Sik. Gathering momentum over time and honoring the movements and flow of life is an integral part of relating to the compositional process. Both dreams and waking states are continuous sources of inspiration for expressions. 

Laomo Sik is one of several monikers by danish musician and producer Mathias Engstrøm, who has been active as a musician since early childhood. Mathias has been making, performing and DJing music under several names for for the past 15 years, as well as being part of several band constellations. These other projects include Dub Across Borders – an eclectic mix of roots and sound-system culture mixed with influences from musical and spiritual traditions from around the world and Odd Harmonics, a venture into the fast-paced world of jungle and drum and bass. Both projects has been released with a number of international labels on different formats. 

Mathias is currently working with Danish/Chilean afro-psych-funk band 'Elektrisk Ål' as a keyboard/synth player performing regularly, while also being part of Copenhagen-based 'YogaCola' – a free-trance-improvisation music collective as well as occasionally participating in 'The Masterplants Orchestra', where he uses his passion for synthesizers, sound healing and gong meditation to create interspecies-music.

Take the lighthouse  to the open sea.
Throw the saddle overboard, I am free.
I drift on the ocean, immerse into the full,
in schools of fish searching colors, which the garment still lacks,
drinking the stream of life, from above and below, from anywhere:
comes on me, hissing.
A swarm at the back, my feet in the mud,
the head leaning against the wall, the night becomes day, 
picks the balloon from the sky and light explodes in the spray.
Life foams over, and I lean back thirsty,
push the back against the seat back, enjoy the drive, the ride.

Collect my blueprints
Count past and possible future into the void.
I was enclosed, zeroed in.
What’s it to the dance? Puzzle of many splinters,
Some penetrate and fester, are source.
I open doors, close doors, so many rooms,
In each one birth, death, sins, knowledge.

I allow myself, believe myself, sue me for myself 
My yes and no and the endless time, the only time that remains is now

I renounce to sacrifice, disaster, error and desolation,
give me space, traces clothe my body,
vinyl and leather, on the strap the whip
and on the left the mind, on the right the impuissence, 
the vision releases depth.

Life serves me, steals from me
Your milk is drinking me all of a sudden your island visits me,
lands at my strand
Flag gala, boat christening, cork’s pop - life steps on the gas
Mother, forever pregnant, gives birth and gives birth and gives birth

Raise the wave, listen to ourselves instead of losing us!
On the trip knowing that these quiet inside calls 
are still related to the loud rushing outside,
That the cosmos outside well-known to the inner sea opens dreams  
you see hidden worlds finally unfold, finally contain you,

One morning which taps blue at the window
opens your desire for the delicious and the secret,
you saddle your horse with the bubbly of the night,
which leans your dream into the day, and you do not know why,
you put on your fanciest cap, turn around and say, "Wonderful!".
You flip the line off, which still hangs on the house,
Throw down the anchor, which still holds you, you mount the horse.
So covetous, so great your thirst for world that nothing can hold you any more
and pure urge for life flows through your veins, you bunk off.

Lust for this foaming, overwhelming exploding in-all-directions,
parading your loudest, wildest and most beautiful,
equipping you with boots that jump over mountains.
You look, on which mountains you were grounded, which horns crowned you,
which valley tied your foot to shade
and seek expanse, gravity, your imploding.
You finally celebrate your luminous ride !!!!!!

Loo(p)cy is a project by Italian multi-instrumentalist Lucia Caiazza. She began studying classical piano then she fell in love with  electric guitar, becoming a rock guitarist and singer during her teenage years and beyond.  During the  last 8 years, Loo(p)cy has released 11 albums, alone and collaborating with other musicians.  Her style has evolved into electronics, noise, post rock with oniric soundscapes.
