Aleceo dj set @ Ecstatic Dance - YogaBarn - Ubud - Oct 30 -2022

Blessed to be on a winter tour combining DJing, new and old friends, yummy local food, wild nature hiking, old picturesque villages, and bathing in cold rivers.

I am grateful that Sophie, the organizer, was open to me holding the entire event - Opening circle, movement class, DJ set, music meditation, and closing circle.
This makes the music journey more meaningful, and the evening more homogenous and flowing. 

This dance journey followed a Dansual class that I facilitated.
Dansual is an intuitive and improvised partnered-dance style, inspired by many dance forms, Tantra and yoga. Thus some of the music was conducive to dance together.

Deep Gratitude to Sophie Auber, the team, Stephane the bread man, Katharina, Melanie, and the amazing dancers that showed up in droves for one of the most packed evenings of this event.

One of the special moments in this evening was at the end, when many of the dancers joined the beautiful chorus and kept singing while we gathered in the closing circle.

What an amazing vibe this last Sunday at Ecstatic Tropical in Serra Grande, Bahia! 

Ecstatic Dance is a practice that I love as both a dancer and a DJ. Both ways of participating bring me into a state of deep connection and presence, and have led me to great insights about my life, community, purpose and spirit.   

This journey took place at the Barracão D’Angola, a legendary Afro-Brazilian cultural space in Serra Grande, Bahia.   This ecstatic dance is currently happening every Sunday at 4pm, for more info check on Instagram @ ecstatictropical.
