Ahead of Experiments in Dub on Sunday (20th of March), we’re happy to release a marathon set from none other than Sydney’s dub techno don Dave Stuart. A stalwart of our scene and a staunch proponent of textured and introspective sounds, Dave delivers Mantra Collective a considered mix spanning ethereal grooves and avant-garde loops. 

Owner of Sydney’s finest underground dance music record store, Something Else Records, he’s a true and recognised curator of sonic journeys both on and off the D-Floor. Having made appearances in DJ booths the world across, Dave’s experience speaks for itself – known best for melding club fodder tracks with thought provoking dancefloor killers. 

We’re excited to have our very own Whitecat go back-to-back with Dave this weekend at Club Fusion in Sydney in a showcase of all the right sounds.

On the northern tip of Africa, the repetitive percussion of groovy tribal drumming permeates the Tunisian streets. These native sounds have long echoed throughout the continent and carry with them a heritage that stretches back across generations, and time itself. Kaisar Mhamdi’s story is firmly embedded within this ancient landscape. His belief is that long before Techno was born in Detroit, Techno has been taking place in Africa. Not through sophisticated electronic devices but through traditional hand made drums and indigenous chanting. Embodying this age-old energy, his dynamic style takes its cue from this past and his present. Effortlessly gliding between experimental and funky four to the floor sound perspectives. Conjuring wild atmospheres and whole states of resonance through precise elements, he ensures a complete astral journey. This unic skillset has not gone unnoticed and has resulted in releases on the likes of Moscow's @bprecs, Romanian label @Aforisme, and imprints @GEMiNiiRecords & @Danzha. All laying the groundwork for his debut LP, which is forthcoming soon on The Aviary.

We've given ROOT permission to unleash his full creative might, so we're proud to feature this monstrous 3HR mix featuring 100% of his own solo material. Produced between April & July this year.
