English story (french below) : 

I was meant to mix for a family wedding. So, I planned to mix some dub from my father’s roots collection. He died some years ago and I thought it could be a joyfyl wink to reunit us. But a drunken guy came and cut the music after just a few minutes. He thus put the « Madison » because they wanted « shitty music » to dance on, as he told me. Tired and upset, I went to sleep in the car, because my tent-mate snored too loudly. 
Rather than recording a mix which was not to be played, I selected four parts of what I prepared to do four mashups, so this moment could become something else to be shared with people I love. For each mashup, two of the four tracks come from my father’s collection, the other two are representative of my own influences. 

The mashups are made of bare loops extracted from each track as samples and then played with 4 decks alternatively.

Je devais mixer pour un mariage en famille. Du coup, j’avais prévu de mixer un peu de dub issu de la collection roots de mon père. Il est mort il y a quelques années, et j’ai pensé que ce serait un clin d’oeil joyeux pour nous réunir. Mais après seulement quelqes minutes, un gars bien allumé est venu couper le son directement. Il a mis le « Madison » car ils voulaient écouter ce qu’il a lui-même nommé « de la bonne grosse musique de merde » (sic) pour danser. Fatigué et un peu vexé, je suis parti me coucher dans la voiture, car mon compagnon de tente ronflait. 
Plutôt que d’enregistrer un mix qui ne devait pas être joué, j’ai choisi quatre parties dans ce que j’avais préparé que j’aimais bien, pour en faire quatre mashups, pour faire de ce moment quelque chose d’autre que je pourrais partager avec celleux que j’aime. La moitié de chaque mashup est composée de morceaux dub issus de la collection de mon père – l’autre moitié est issue de mes dernières influences. 

Les mashups sont purement constitués de boucles extraites de chaque morceau, comme des samples, qui sont ensuite jouées à quatre pistes alternativement.

Une version de "It has never been", une performance sonore créée pour l'exposition "My Body Is", d'Alexandre Bibia et de Enzo Tonati. 
La tenue a été réalisée par Enzo Facchin.

Avant le début du mix, la tracklist a été distribuée à une partie du public, et elle est restée disponible devant moi durant toute la durée de l'intervention sonore, ainsi qu'après. Les titres des morceaux ont été sélectionnés en fonction de la commande qui m'avait été faite, et forment comme un poème autour de la chute, l'amour, le temps, la décomposition, la recomposition.

Durant tout le long du mix est joué le morceau "Dernier souffle", autour duquel sont constamment articulés trois autres morceaux, qui perdent ainsi leur identité propre pour se fondre dans le magma du tout recomposé.

"It has never been" for My Body Is exhibition

Pour ce mix pour la CL(i)94, dont voici l'enregistrement live, j'ai essayé de représenter la "hornyness" selon 3 actes et demi: acte 1 : ghetthornyness - acte 2 : hardhornyness - acte 2,5 : upliftedhornyness - acte 3 : tranc'hornyness. J'ai mixé à 3 pistes, pour apporter des dissonances et un côté parfois cacophonique. 
Quelques erreurs sont dues à l'heure avancée de la nuit, et peut-être à une certaine ivresse. 

English : 
This is the live recorded mix I made for the CL(i)94 party. I tried to represent "hornyness" according to 3 and a half acts: act 1 : ghetthornyness - act 2 : hardhornyness - act 2,5 : upliftedhornyness - acte  : tranc'hornyness. I used 3 decks, to create a kind of dissonance, which sometimes sounds like a cacophonia.
Some mistakes might have been caused by a certain euphoria of the night.

Live recorded mix for CL(i)94 : Erysimum

Deuxième partie de l'enregistrement du set ambient fait pour la performance co-créée avec Paul Clousier et Enzo Facchin lors de l'espace de création libre organisé par Wood et Rythmus le 20 mars 2022 à Paris.

La fin de la logique, l'ineffabilité du temps, la mort, la peur qui l'entoure, la panfiction dans laquelle nous évoluons -- et l'amour, comme toujours -- sont les thèmes que j'ai choisi d'évoquer en réponse au thème d'Alice au Pays des Merveilles. Comme chaque performance d'ambient, les titres des morceaux ont été choisis pour composer un poème ; ce poème sert de contrainte à la composition musicale du set en imposant l'ordre de passage des morceaux. L'identité du morceau se concentre ainsi dans son nom, pour se fondre dans l'unité du mix à 4 voies.

Here is the second part of the recording of my ambient mix I made for the performance we co-created with Paul Clousier and Enzo Facchin for the workshop organised by Wood and Rythmus in Paris on March the 20th 2022.

The end of logics,the ineffability of time, the death and its related fear, the pan-fiction in which we live, -- love as always -- are the topics I wanted to deal with in response of the theme "Alice in Wonderland". As in each ambient performance I make, the titles of the tracks were chosen to compose a poem ; this poem is the only constraint for composing, by imposing the order of the tracks. The identity of each track consists thus in its mere name, to get dissolved in the unity of the 4 decks mix.

2nd Part of Matrice @Wood's place

3330 est un set ambient réalisé dans le cadre de l’événement « 5 secondes ... » organisé par Badtothebone magazine les 10 et 11 juin 2022. 3330 a eu lieu dans la rue – il faisait chaud, et le goudron devenait brûlant, c’est pourquoi nous m’avons construit une cabane avec deux barrières et deux draps. C’est dans ce ciel de fortune que j’ai joué une version étendue de 3330 au rythme des lectures et performances qui ont eu lieu dans l’après-midi – dont une performance de Ayoub, que j’ai eu la chance d’accompagner. 
	3330 concentre les aspirations d’une gaie fin de printemps, lasse d’une tristesse qui n’attend qu’à être dépassée. Futurités, temps, urgence, puissance, amour, inipséité sont les thèmes qui alimentent le poème formé du nom des tracks choisis pour 3330. Les morceaux ont en effet été choisis pour leur titre, et la tracklist a imposé l’ordre de passages des 31 morceaux joués à 4 pistes dans une suave cacophonie maximaliste. 

C’est donc contre un romantisme dépassé de la souffrance toujours déjà manquée, que voici une saine niaiserie. 


English :
3330 is an ambient set produced for the event « 5 secondes... » organised by Badtothebone magazine on June the 10th & 11th 2022. 3330 occured in the street – weather was warm, and the floor went piping hot, that’s why we built a « hut » for me with two bareers and two sheets. That’s in this makeshift sky that I played an extended version of 3330, accompanied by poem readings and performances which happened in the afternoon – including a performance of Ayoub, with whom I was lucky to collaborate. 
	3330 contains the aspirations of a joyful spring-end, weary of a sadness which urges to be overcome. Futurities, time, urge, power, love, inipseity are the topics which fulfil the poem made of the names of the tracks which constitue the tracklist of 3330. Tracks have indeed been chosen for their bare titles, and the tracklist leads the running order of the 31 tracks played with 4 decks in this soft maximalist cacophonia.

So, it is against an outdated romanticism of an always missed suffer, that here is an healthy folly.

3330 - for 5 secondes to collapse event of Badtothebone magazine

Creuser l’utopie est un set ambient créé pour l’oeuvre réalisée par Paul Clousier dans le cadre de son projet de fin d’étude en architecture. Les possibles de l’entrecroisement de corps interdits par le straight space ont été tissés en crochet par Paul, dont la création s’étendait autour et dans sa toile arachnide. C’est un oui spatial, constitué de toutes les opacités produites là, qui rendent pour autant visible ce qui se cache derrière ces nouvelles fenêtres ouvertes vers la possibilité d’une rencontre. Le désir est partout, qu’il ait été barré, ou qu’il surgisse, las de devoir se cacher. 
Les morceaux ont été choisis pour leur titre ; ces titres ont permis de faire un poème  qui impose la tracklist. Le poème impose donc l’ordre de passages des 41 morceaux joués à 4 pistes alimentant ce brouillard sonore maximaliste.

Digging utopia is an ambient set created for the piece of art realised by Paul Clousier, in the frame of his architecture degree validation project. The possibles of the interweaving of bodies which are forbidden by the straight space were weaved in crochet by Paul, whose the production was in and around its arachnid net.  It is a spatial yes, constituted of all the opacities there producted, which reveal nonetheless what is hidden beyond these new windows opened towards the possibility of an encounter. Desire is everywhere, may it have been strucked through, or may it emerge, weary of the need to hide oneself. 
Tracks have been chosen for their bare titles ; these titles give form to a poem which impose the tracklist. Therefore, the poem leads the running order of the 41 tracks played with 4 decks fueling this maximalist sound-fog.

Creuser l'utopie - pour Paul Clousier

This is an extended version of a mashup I did in my hardambient 1 mix. 

In this project, i only take loops from hardtechno, techno, gabber, trance, etc., tracks (except track n°1/42), to constitute an ambient/expe mix, at the edge of the rythmic noise sometimes. But whatever, the aim was to deconstruct the frame of the tracks to build sometimes totally different, with no possibility of identification between the tracks, which identities have been melted in the magma of the totality.

Saturnations, pour Saturation
Saturation décadencée pour laisser derrière l'année dernière en 4 actes. 
Acte 1 : Fracturation. Rythmes breakés sur fonds planants, parfois rugueux miam. 
Acte 1bis : 1bisaturationne car ajouté après coup pour jouer de la techno aux copaines qui aiment ça, mais à ma sauce.
Acte 2 : USaturation. Mélange polymorphe ravey techno distordu centré autour des dernières découvertes étatsuniennes.
Acte 3 : Fasturation. Expérience rapide de la perte de rapidité, éclectiquement décélérante.
Radiances annoncées à trois pistes morcelées bouclées pour la nouvelle année -- résultat dissonamment harmonieux pour faire se mouvoir les corps qui dansaient là.

Saturnations est un mix produit pour l’événement CL(i)91 : Saturation de Cent lendemains. Pour annoncer de nouvelles radiances, le set est construit autour de 4 actes qui expriment à leur manière la saturation, en appelant à l’évacuation par la danse. Saturnations a été mixé à trois pistes en vue d'une fluidité cacophonique dansante.

English : 
Saturnations was mixed for the event CL(i)91 : Saturation. To announce new radiances, this mix was constructed in 4 acts (Fracturation, 1bisaturationne, USaturation, Fasturation), which express saturation by their own way, calling for evacuation – through the dance of a moving body, with frenesy and tenderness.
Saturnations was mixed with 3 decks, with loops under effects, to create discordant harmonies aimed at the dancing bodies which were moving there.

English story (french below) : 

I was meant to mix for a family wedding. So, I planned to mix some dub from my father’s roots collection. He died some years ago and I thought it could be a joyfyl wink to reunit us. But a drunken guy came and cut the music after just a few minutes. He thus put the « Madison » because they wanted « shitty music » to dance on, as he told me. Tired and upset, I went to sleep in the car, because my tent-mate snored too loudly. 
Rather than recording a mix which was not to be played, I selected four parts of what I prepared to do four mashups, so this moment could become something else to be shared with people I love. For each mashup, two of the four tracks come from my father’s collection, the other two are representative of my own influences. 

The mashups are made of bare loops extracted from each track as samples and then played with 4 decks alternatively.

Je devais mixer pour un mariage en famille. Du coup, j’avais prévu de mixer un peu de dub issu de la collection roots de mon père. Il est mort il y a quelques années, et j’ai pensé que ce serait un clin d’oeil joyeux pour nous réunir. Mais après seulement quelqes minutes, un gars bien allumé est venu couper le son directement. Il a mis le « Madison » car ils voulaient écouter ce qu’il a lui-même nommé « de la bonne grosse musique de merde » (sic) pour danser. Fatigué et un peu vexé, je suis parti me coucher dans la voiture, car mon compagnon de tente ronflait. 
Plutôt que d’enregistrer un mix qui ne devait pas être joué, j’ai choisi quatre parties dans ce que j’avais préparé que j’aimais bien, pour en faire quatre mashups, pour faire de ce moment quelque chose d’autre que je pourrais partager avec celleux que j’aime. La moitié de chaque mashup est composée de morceaux dub issus de la collection de mon père – l’autre moitié est issue de mes dernières influences. 

Les mashups sont purement constitués de boucles extraites de chaque morceau, comme des samples, qui sont ensuite jouées à quatre pistes alternativement.

R0Réfectionismes est un projet né de l’amour pour mon ami R. de la Makina. Initialement, je voulais lui faire un mashup d’anniversaire avec quatre morceaux de ce genre émergeant dans les années 1990. Finalement, il en est né une pièce composée d’une intro, de deux morceaux, et d’un outro.

La face A est entièrement composée de matériaux extraits du morceau "Reflections" de Gerard Requena ; la face B du morceau "Moon's field" de Pastis & Buenri -- le tout dans un processus de reproduction au non-identique afin de perdre tout ancrage fondamental à quelque original. Le même processus de refonte a été utilisé : déformation, extraction sous forme de boucles, constitution de samples à partir de ces boucles, enregistrement de ces samples joués en boucle pour obtenir un morceau par face. A partir du réagencement de ces deux morceaux, dont j’ai extrait de nouvelles loops, j’ai respectivement enregistré l’introduction pour la face A et l’outroduction pour la face B, afin de coller à la  durée de l’objet cassette et à son format de 2 x 45 minutes.

Le tout final de l’enregistrement numérique a lui-même encore été altéré par l’enregistrement cassette que j’ai réalisé moi-même en deux exemplaires qui ne sont pas identiques. 


English : 
R0Refectionisms is born because my friend R. is fond of Makina. I first wanted to make a mashup for his birthday, made up of four tracks of this typical 1990’s genre. Finally, I produced a work composed of an introduction, two tracks, and an « outroduction ». 

The A-side is barely composed of mere elements extracted from Gerard Requena 's track "Reflections" ; the B-side from Pastis & Buenri's track "Moon's field" - the whole through a process of reproduction of the non-identical, to be deprived of any original object. The same process of « remelting » has been used : deformation, extraction of loops, remodeling these loops to make samples, recording of this looped again samples and remodeling again to get a track by side. Then, I extracted new loops from these two tracks to record respectively the introduction for the A-side and the « outroduction » for the « B-side », to match with the duration of the object « tape » and its 2*45min format. 

The whole of the recording has again been altered by the tape-recording that I made myself in only two non-identical copies.

Pièce sonore formée d’enregistrements qui se sont produits dans l’espace où a eu lieu l'événement HAPAX, depuis son ouverture. Les fréquences basses des différents live ayant été joués là auparavant sont super- ou aposées puis augmentées des rires, exclamations, discussions ou proférations par les personnes présentes sur site (après diverses modifications), avant, pendant, ou après les live. La pièce a été diffusée grâce à un système d’enceintes multiples, de différents types, à divers endroits du lieu, à différents niveaux – installation par Florent Manneveau.
C'est donc une pièce de field recordings, mais de club, jouée dans le club d'où les enregistrements utilisés venaient.


Soundpiece made of recordings that occured in the location where the event HAPAX took place, since its opening. Basses of the recordings of the lives that happened there are isolated and juxtaposed. Then are added (after having been modified) laugths, talks, exclamations, or proclaimed shouts that did the people on site before, during or after the lives in question. This soundpice was diffused thanks to an installation of Florent Manneveau, made of various speakers, in various places of the location, at different levels.
So, this is a field recordings soundpiece, but of club ones, that was played in the club where the recordings are from.

English description: 
This album is made of mere loops, reworked, resampled, reshaped and recorded in a constant process of reproduction of a non-identical material that has never been the same. It concentrates my latest ways of musicking and the results of my research as a PhD student, in philosophy. Thus, beyond the concept of reality, which is here said to be obsolete, i.e out of any thing consistent, I tried to focus on a reproduction without any proper product to reproduce. It follows a long tradition of sampling, looping, mixing in many genres in electronic music, that first weren’t genres - because they first blurred all the boundaries of their time. But without reality, there is not nothing either. There are still lots of meanings, emotions, relationships and trajectories, also powers we recognise as such. There are fictions, with different strengths that we hate, ignore or love. 

I used combined samples of some tracks mixed with distorted accordion for the 1st track, and only reshaped recordings of my uncle and his friends playing accordion, sax, & clarinette with effects for the 2nd one, for which even kicks are combinations of different layered recordings of a sax. 
These two tracks were firstly live recordings that have been arranged and mixed afterwards in the purpose of being released : the 1st one on October the 28th and the 2nd one on Decembre the 29th 2023.

Description française : 
Cet album est fait de simples boucles enregistrées, retravaillées, déformées, re-formées, ré-enregistrées dans un processus constant de reproduction au non-identique d’un matériau qui n’a d’ailleurs jamais été le même. Il réunit les résultats de mes dernières manières de faire de la musique et ceux de mes recherches dans le cadre de mon doctorat en philosophie. Au-delà du concept de réalité, qui est obsolète, c’est-à-dire sans aucune chose de pertinente, j’ai essayé d’explorer cette reproduction sans produit à reproduire à proprement parler - suivant ainsi une longue tradition de sampling, de looping et d’arrangements, propre à beaucoup de genres de musique électronique, bien qu’ils n’aient d’abord pas été des genres - parce qu’ils brouillaient alors toutes les frontières de leur temps. Mais sans réalité, il n’y a pas non plus rien, parce qu’il y a beaucoup de sens, d’émotions, de pouvoirs que l’on reconnaît comme tels – il y a des fictions, avec différentes puissances, qu’on hait, qu’on ignore ou qu’on aime. 

Pour le premier morceau, j’ai utilisé des samples juxtaposés et modifiés de quelques morceaux avec des boucles d’accordéon distordus. Pour le second, j’ai utilisé des boucles reconstituées à partir d’enregistrements de mon oncle et quelques-uns de ses amis jouant de l’accordéon, du saxo et de la clarinette, sous effets - pour ce morceau, même les kicks sont formés de différents enregistrements de saxo recombinés. Ces deux morceaux ont d’abord été des enregistrements que j’ai ensuite retravaillés et mixés en vue de les sortir : le premier le 28 octobre 2023 et le second le 29 décembre 2023.

La tracklist forme un poème - des boucles sont extraites des morceaux, qui n'ont été sélectionnés pour leur titre seulement. Puis les morceaux sont joués dans l'ordre du poème, formant la tracklist.

"Proof of nothing - love", prend pour thématique la pratique fictionnelle de l'utopie localisée, comme puissance productrice de sens pour un maintenant dont le dépassement est rendu accessible par la convocation d'un ailleurs. 

Cette pièce sonore a été réalisée pour le rendu de diplôme de Maëlle Ribeiro. Voici ses mots: 
"After the party est une expérience proposée le 19 juin 2024, dans le cadre de mon diplôme, au 108 rue de Bourgogne à Orléans. Cette installation a été pensée  dans un format hybride, mêlant performance sonore (créée par Lucus), collage, installation vidéo, productions textiles et illustrations. Pensée comme une restitution formelle de l'enquête qui fut la mienne durant presque deux ans, j'ai accompagné les visiteureuses à la rencontre de trois collectifs（Cent Lendemains, Bonjour Madame, Par la Racine) qui utilisent la célébration comme un outil de résistance; cette installation a été un prétexte à une dissection de notre société, de ces maux et des blessés qu'elle laisse derrière elle. Cette pièce ne propose pas de solution unique, elle invite à multiplier les propositions pour que nos ailleurs et nos demains puissent exister ici et maintenant."

The tracklist makes a poem - loops are extracted from tracks that were selected for their bare titles. Then, the tracks (in pieces) are played with 4 decks, following the order of the poem. 

This was made for the exhibition by Maëlle Ribeiro, who says : 
"After the party is an experiment proposed on June 19, 2024, as part of my diploma, at 108 rue de bourgogne in Orlans. This installation was conceived in a hybrid format, combining sound performance (by Lucus), collage, video installation, textile pieces and drawings. 
Conceived as a formal restitution of the investigation I'd been conducting for almost two years, visitors go on a tour to meet those three collectives (Cent Lendenzins, Bonjour Madame, Par 12 Racine) who use celebration as a weapon to resist and fight back; this installation was a pretext for an analysis of our society, its ills and the wounded it leaves behind. This set-up does not propose a single solution, but invites us to multiply our proposals so that our elsewhere and our tomorrow can exist here and now."

Andres Komatsu et Autistic campaign m'ont invité pour leur événement ROUENOISE, au Boulingrin, à Rouen. 
J'y ai proposé un live, en n'utilisant que des boucles que j'avais composées avant de les mixer durant la performance. 

Commençant par les mêmes multiples répétitions percussives distordues à différents niveaux, le live est ensuite fait d'une variation continue de tableaux contrastés, traversés par une même pulsion industrielle. Enfin, le live finit par dix minutes de contemplation grinçante, où les cuivres sont oxydés dans des nappes lancinantes. 

Tous les tableaux sont faits d'un assemblage live de boucles composées en amont à partir d'enregistrements 1) d'instruments effectués lors de diverses collaborations, ou bien 2) de performances auxquelles j'ai assistées, ou bien 3) de samples extraits de morceaux, 4) etc.

Andres Komatsu and Autistic campaign invited me on August the 3rd to participate to the event ROUENOISE, that they organised at the Boulingrin, in Rouen, France. 
I made there a live during which I played loops I previously compised before I mix them during the live performance.

The live begins with the repetition of the same multiple percussive loops distorded at different levels. Then, it becomes a succession of various scenes that are run through by the same industrial urge. The end is made of ten minutes of creaking contemplation, during which the brass oxydise themselves in nagging waving soundscapes. 

All the scenes are made of loops of my own composition. These loops are made of recordings made of real instruments I made, or of performances I went to, or of tracks, or else.

For CL(e)87 I wanted to create a party centered around the scenographic work of Paul Clousier. With Cent lendemains & Paul, we made an exhibition around his creation process that mixes architecture, clothes experimentations and scenography through « crochet ». Paul thus made a huge crochet installation in the main room of the location. On Wednesday October the 23rd 2024, for the opening, Paul made a performance during which he tied his co-performer to the scenographic installation mixing crochet and bondage. 

This is for this performance that I made this live of which you here have the recording, following my ambient-poem concept, named « Another beginning ». 

(Ambient-poem concept : I make ambient lives made of tracks I select only for their title to write poems with the traklist)

Pour l'événement CL(e)87, j'ai voulu créer une fête autour du travail scénographique de Paul Clousier. Avec Cent lendemains & Paul, nous avons monté une exposition autour de son processus de création qui mêle architecture, expérimentations textiles et scénographie autour du crochet. Paul a ainsi créé une incroyable installation en crocher in situ dans l'espace principal du lieu où aura lieu quelques jours plus tard la fête. Le mercredi 23 octobre 2024, pour l'ouverture de l'événement sous la forme d'un vernissage, Paul a fait une performance durant laquelle il a attaché son coperformeur à l'installation scénographique mêlant crochet (en laine acrylique) et bondage.

C'est pour cette performance que j'ai fait ce live dont voici l'enregistrement, en suivant mon concept de poème-ambient, appelé "Another beginning". 

(Concept ambient-poème : je fais des lives ambient constitués de morceaux que je sélectionne pour leurs seuls titres avec lesquels j'écris un poème)
