The Activators are a 10-piece band whose eclectic style transcends Ska, Reggae, Celtic, Punk, 60s Garage and Dub, even venturing into Baltic folk and Bossanova!

Since formation, the group has stacked up rave reviews and have received the thumbs-up from such diverse entities as the Strummerville Organisation to Bez (Happy Mondays)! This recognition has been replicated on the live scene, with an acclaimed Isle of Wight Festival appearance along with Guilfest Main Stage and Strummer Of Love Festival performances further enhancing their reputation.
Reviewers deemed their Guilfest performance as “The best of the day” and This Festival Feeling enthused that “The highlight of the day was definitely The Activators – whose set of reggae/ ska tinged punk was more like a party than a gig.”

Their energy, style and liking for utter mayhem has led to them becoming regulars on the festival circuit in the UK and in Europe. 2012 and 2013 saw them tour extensively from Newcastle to Taunton to Manchester to Camden and beyond sharing the stage with many great acts from Jimmy Cliff to The Beat, The Skints to The Dub Pistols, The Selecter to Fraebbblarnir (Iceland’s finest!) to name but a few. Recent international slots have included headlining festivals in Italy and Iceland.

The Activators’ line-up includes the world-renowned percussionist and producer Pablo Cook, formerly of Joe Strummer and the Mescalero’s, Pulp, Moby and Lily Allen fame. Pablo adds quality percussive grooves to the band’s mix of highly original tunes.

Wel i started off wanting to be an mc and thort i was getting somewher,, biggest gig being deadly fusion wher i was lukky enough to hav freestyle battle with the 1 and only shabba d. i loved it thru being able to control the crowd thers no better feeling than that ,then i slowely learnd that to control the crowd u need to be a dj,, FACT, so thats wen i started mixing instead and the best crowd u can ever control is the mosh a freeparty withou a dought so i have bin a fan of the free party scene for bout 15 yrs now and started mixing bout the same time.
i love all kinds of beats from hardtrance,tekno,electro,progressive trance,and love to mix ragga jungle n dnb,i have played out at freekquency festival 2012 and illusive festival 2014 and up an coming years with me and the help of the crew we created the lost stage ,, the main stage at illusive and be prepared to be enlightened again in following years unitd beatz festival and was a reguler at the  beakon milton keynes bak in the day and have mixed 4 rigs such as northern sounds,exposure sounds,oneunity., chronic, potant,tralier trash,enfused, and ruba duk sounds and i am a DJ for a rig known as FREEDOM SOUNDZ . or 3DOM SOUNDZ and with that we run alongside the good bad DIATRIBE SOUNDSYSTEMS
