End Of That World:
the new greek tragedy of quantum virus pandemic

Drawing from both mythology and scientific speculation, TAMTEN continues his meticulous world-building efforts on the first ever full length LP that follows up the story of “Diamentowa Sutra”.
Loosely based on the structure of an antique Greek tragedy, “End of That World” blurs the lines between both genres and narrative techniques. Even though intended for deliberate start-to-finish listening sessions similarly to a modern kraut / psych rock opera, the infectious grooves and mutant dub echoes beg for arcane communal dancefloors in the most unexpected settings.
TAMTEN never hesitates to borrow from seemingly unrelated sources of inspiration. Luckily, instead of boasting with cultural literacy, he’d rather invite us to join him on an odyssey through eras, ideas & often unnoticed or forgotten works of others to make our own connections and interpretations. Continuing his exploration of balearic, new wave and esoteric tropes in Polish music, he also manages to reference philharmony and world renowned pop icons.
The same approach is reflected in the ensemble of friends and artists contributing to “End of That World” with instrumentals, rearrangements, samples, voices and drawings. The personnel includes some of the prominent talents of their generation like Pejzaż, Freux and Ivan Bayor, acknowledged for introducing Polish and international audiences to obscure and yet club-ready sounds.
Utilizing both classic & modern gear, TAMTEN develops a palette of his own. New age ambiences are coupled with contemporary downtempo chuggy beats while coldwave-inspired dark disco pulsating synthesizers evoke a feeling of mystery and suspense with corresponding organic textures and ritual toms and clanky percussions.

Join him on the new episode of Outsiders with Lucyna records nicknamed "Space Cowboy," where the exploration continues into ambient country, obscure Americana, and outsider cowboy music. TAMTEN also knows as Dj Grzyb - Warsaw-based producer, dj and live performer, 1/3 of the post-post-punk band House of Lucy, 1/3 of polish-belgian wavy psych-kraut trio Personal Sauveur. Together with Ivan Bayor and Fopa, TAMTEN runs Lucyna - label and half-year's eve festival. In 2023 he released his debut album called ‘End Of That World’.

Popping up on Polish imprint Transatlantyk’s second Trans Afryka EP, he then went on to chart his first solo release ’Diamentowa Sutra’ on the label in October 2018. His productions are beautifully intricate and meticulously thought out. Working in the city’s premiere record shop, Side One, has furnished him with a unique insight into the workings of the scene. After appearing on Transatlantyk label, together with his partner Fopa released critically acclaimed “Polski Dom” EP in 2019, successfully attempting to fuse Polish folk music with contemporary (post)house. His records were released by labels like The Very Polish Cut-Outs, Fałda, Huveshta Rituals.

Mixed Feelings presents a VA remix EP of Jaxe's track titled "Flames" (released in 2023 via Peace Tomorrow VA) from Bejenec, Bakblivv, Avtomat, Tamten and Jaxe's own flip.

Beginning with Bejenec's remake, Flames emerge as reminiscent of the golden days of 4/4 UK bass, boasting a commanding bassline that drives the rhythm alongside drums infused with lots of swing.

Following suit is Babklivv, whose distorted low frequencies disrupt the previous remix structure, presenting a beat driven by broken kicks, perpetually building a seductive tension.

The third track belongs to Avtomat, who further diversifies the mix with an onslaught of heavy percussive hits seamlessly melded with a dubstep-inspired bass, gradually enveloping the listener until exhaustion sets in.

TAMTEN then offers a momentary, deeper interpretation, imbuing the original with a southwestern sonic flavor, evoking an abstract dream that seems to stretch on indefinitely.

Finally, Jaxe's reinterpretation brings the EP to a close, reimagining the original bassline with uptempo breakbeat drums and a captivating sawtooth hook, elevating the energy into higher BPM territory.

Solo Gemini takes you on the journey through unmade beds and tiny, affordable, apartment spaces. 'Master Bedroom' is a tribute to bedroom producing as a manifest of DIY culture, where all you need is minimum of tools and maximum of imagination. Nothing really matters when it comes to being focused on what you love. The tape is self-compilation down the hip-hopish beats inspired by different (often old) recordings (jazz, latin grooves, cinema fx...etc) and capabilities of selected VST plugins. The remixes from djnotsofriendly dream-team: Tamten, Fopa and Ivan Bayor dots the 'I' of diversity.
