D.B.V, short for, “DOPE BOY VON”, but known to most as simply “Von”, is the true
definition of a “grinder”. He goes hard in the paint, not only for himself, but for his entire TEAM.
Born, October 1st, in one of Miami, Florida’s inner projects, known as “The Brown Subs”, D.B.V
has already exceeded expectations by seeing 18, and 21. Von says he has always been his on
“Influential Person” to himself, even as a
child because he knew how unique he
was from others, during the summer
breaks he remembers always trying to
find a way to make money, being that he
was the “Man of the House”, beginning at
the early age of 11.
One of the reason D.B.V.’s
motivation stays so strong, is because he
has a couple angels watching down on
him, one of them being his childhood
best-friend, Janelle Lynn. Janelle lost her
life to a stray bullet in the same “projects”
Von made it out of, thankfully, he
remembers, reflects, and promises to
never forget. Although Von had
unfortunate circumstances to deal with,
he never let it detour him from his
education. Graduating in 2005, as the
Salutatorian of his class, Von’s love for
music was still evident, listening to a lot of
Def Jams and RocaFella helped him
through all obstacles thrown his way.
Florida Memorial University, was the
college decision, and it was an easy
decision being that they offered D.B.V a
scholarship to do so, although he says if
he could “attend again”, he would.
As a parent, to his two sons, Von
says, “they will describe me as the best
father in the world”, hands down. Being a
father to his boys is a very important
factor in Von’s life; being stern and raising them how his grandmother helped raised him, he
guides them to do what’s right, especially if he sees something wrong. As a man who does
believe in love at first sight, D.B.V is the ultimate Ladies’s Man, but don’t get it twisted; He’s had
his first love before, and her name was Taquanna King!
After his family, his music, and love life, you can find D.B.V riding his dirt bike through
the city streets of Miami, however know he lives by the “Keep my firearm at all times Policy”, so
take heed. Whether in the booth, or on the road, D.B.V goes hard, and for that he will soon be
known as “ The #1 Man”.
