A devilish combination of weighty break-beats, clattering old-school snares and static electricity, ‘Perception’ takes a spoken word sound-byte and twists it into a monstrous beast, filtering and snaking over 7 minutes. Perhaps their most intense club moment crafted together so far, Faki and Heil bring all their years of experience and love for their art to the table. A useful acapella version is included here too, for DJs who know!

A welcome return to some of the pair’s classic studio hardware, ‘Happy 808’ shows off masterful drum programming, coupled with a super-spacey mixdown, that elevates the 808 to new extremes. Using beautifully crafted distortion and reverb spaces, and coupled with a constantly moving arrangement, its hard to put this one down.

French Techno label Club Poison is a relatively new project by 14anger and already making a great impression.

The track we picked out by Commuter is called “Vegan Revenge” and forthcoming on their next various artists EP called “Cyanide.”

The track begins with a tame but tense groove signified by an increasing high pitched drone that keeps you on your toes. Quickly you are greeted with a whipping and lashing sound that resembles a lion being tamed. This, added to the low, bending, growls underneath is a perfect match. It wades forward into a suspenseful breakdown before really going crazy and launching into high octane mode with a nice splattering of a modular workout.

It’s already picked up a setlist feature from Samuli Kemppi and Juho Kusti of the brilliant Deep Space Helsinki Radio Show in Finland and should definitely be checked out.

Released Monday 8 June 2015.
