2015 saw Stephan Bodzin release his second full length, “Powers of Ten”, as well as a new single on DJ Tennis’ and Tale of Us’ taste making label Life and Death. The album is another magical piece of work that focuses on melody and rhythm, on fat bass and vivid sound design and is a truly captivating journey through the mind, music, body and soul of one of dance music’s truly modern greats. After its release, a great team of modern music makers was enlisted to remix tracks from it: Maceo Plex & Shall Ochin, Fur Coat, Extrawelt, long time musical sparring partner Marc Romboy, Pan-Pot, Max Cooper, Agents of Time, Dominik Eulberg and many more all contributed to what is an essential collection. With a remix of ‘Sleepless’, a Pan-Pot track from their latest album, Stephan Bodzin closed the latest chapter of 2015 in what has been an exhilarating musical journey in his capable and creative hands.

Why do we tell stories?

We breathe, we eat, we sleep. We seek connection. These are our basic human needs.

But there is one more need we all share, and it centres on stories. All across the world, stories are being recounted everywhere, in every imaginable way, at any given time. For telling stories is at the very essence of what it is to be human.

The universe of stories can be broken down into seven basic plots which underlie all stories ever told. Recognising these patterns is the gateway to unravelling the universal symbolic language from which all storytelling is spun.

With 'Comedia', Chapter 24 returns with seven stories in sound collected from artists across the world to bring these themes to life.

This latest edition heralds the arrival of a range of new artists to Chapter 24. Polymath Londoner Ben Gomori rubs shoulders with Athenian Connaisseur and Objektivity artist Thodoris Triantafillou. They are joined by up-and-coming Italian DJ and producer Ivory, and a tribal collaboration between Kapibara and SHEFFÈ, reprising Kurt Baggaley’s 'Spiral'.

Manchester-based Kerouac completes the set of new arrivals, swelling the ranks with the powerful 'SO.WE.TO'. Meanwhile, label mainstays VVerses and Luis Leon bring their own contributions to a high quality compilation with their typically organic and groove-oriented sounds.

They say that there are only seven basic plots but a thousand different stories.

And so, as the storyteller utters that age old, magical phrase "Once upon a time...", let yourself be carried away…

Sasch BBC & Caspar make their highly anticipated return on Manual Music after last years' well received 'Demure EP' and their recent remix for Formel's Hide & Seek single.

The German duo is known for always finding a solid middle ground between the deep house, progressive house and melodic techno genres. Something that has lead to a wide array of support across the electronic music scene.

For their second EP on Manual Music they delight us with three original cuts, starting off with the title track 'Melting Ice'. A deep groovy yet melodic and euphoric song that will make your hips wiggle for sure, setting the tone for what's to come on this release.

'Another Love' sounds a bit more raw with it's gritty beats and more aggressive percussion arrangement. A late night underground dance floor pleaser this one. A proper heady one as one might say, with it's subtle hypnotizing arps and other repetitive sounds.

The finish things off with a bang the guys turn things up a notch with 'The Code', a song that will appeal to a more techno orientated crowd- and DJ's alike for sure. A mysterious intro cleverly builds towards the point where the roaring bassline comes in, and that bassline opens up more and more until it reaches a point of total- and utter madness!

Three quality cuts of a producer duo that are quickly becoming part of Manual Music's trademark artists. Just have a listen and you know why!

If you’ve caught a set from Adam Beyer recently, chances are you remember this track causing mayhem. ‘Your Mind’ is a banging new collaboration with Dutch talent Bart Skils, and it absolutely caught the attention of his Timewarp, Awakenings and Ultra set audiences with its haunting chorus chant.
