ISLAND gives an insight into an experience of parenting when you're still really a child yourself. It speaks of the loss and regret implicit in knowing that although you did your best, it often wasn't good enough. Rosalie James experienced severe depression, anxiety and addiction while raising two children in her late teens and early twenties. Both are now healthy, happy and confident adults, giving hope to anyone struggling with early/single parenting that love, respect and open communication can form a solid foundation to any relationship. ISLAND features stunning vocals from LA-based musical tour de force Storefront Church and was produced by Daniel Knowles (Sharon Van Etten).

"ISLAND stands for 'I Saw Love As Not Dying'. There were many moments where I didn't want to carry on but every time, the thought of what it would do to my children prevented me from taking my own life. The ultimate expression of my love for them was staying alive, even though it was incredibly painful and I couldn't always be there for them in the way I would have liked." (Rosalie James)
