He’d seen them, glowing eyes in the windows, shadows that flitted about the grounds, shutters and doors that created unnatural rhythms in the whistling wind. He knew there was something in that old manor, but none else believed him. The time of ghosts and ghouls was long past they said, and such stories were bogeymen used only to keep nearby children away from the condemned property. They insisted, but he knew better. He’d venture in, where none had gone in living memory, and obtain the proof to make his words ring true. He was no crazed man, no, he saw what was truly there.

Armed with camera and wit alone, he dared tread across the estate, treading the worn stone pathways of its garden towards the set of great oaken doors that were its maw. To his surprise, they open almost effortlessly, as though he was meant to enter, as though the house had been expecting a visitor. They closed not only effortlessly but somehow more quickly too, but the man did not fear; this was only the first of many grains of truth to be gathered from this place where non else dared enter. As he ventured further inwards, the walls seemed to warp to greet him, a wave undulating through their construction that moved at precisely his pace. The pictures that hung on the walls warped too, transforming into uncanny visages of the humanoid figures that seemed almost imprisoned within. Deeper and deeper into the manor he went, documenting these strange occurrences with such diligence that he nearly failed to note that he had re-emerged into the manor’s great hall, despite never turning from the course that had lead him from it some time ago. As he looked up from his shutter, there before him was a horrific form, a melding of beast and man within an otherworldly miasma that seemed to sap all of the heat from his bones. The though horrified, the man’s face contorted itself into a grin, as the evidence he sought lay here before him. With not a thought for what might follow, the man’s finger triggered the shutter, capturing the form of what he had known to exist for so long. Elated, he turned to leave the mansion but ran up against a barrier of invisible force, the lens of the camera that now lay on the floor and the tomb that he too was now captured within.

TEDDY KILLERZ bring their latest single to EATBRAIN with GHOSTS//FINAL BOSS, the latest in the ursine trio’s unstoppable rampage throughout the Neurofunk scene. Within, they deliver another dose of their horror-influenced sound with bass drum bombardments, electrified arpeggios, and earsplitting baselines alike, which morph the EATBRAIN horde into sonic manifestations of fear.

Founded in 1995 Renegade Hardware has been at the forefront of pioneering the techstep and neurofunk sound and is regarded as one of the most influential labels in Drum & Bass.

With a history expanding almost 30 years, the label was the gateway to some of the scenes leading artists of today, such as Loxy & Ink, Chase & Status, Friction, Noisia, Spor, Audio, Phace, Calyx & Teebee, Konflict, Prolix, to name a few, gracing its historic back catalogue.

In 2016, after more than two decades at the forefront of the scene, Renegade Hardware announced its closure. The label's final chapter was marked by a series of releases and farewell events that brought together fans, artists, and industry insiders to pay tribute to its legacy. 

Fast forward to the present, and with a complete reshape, Renegade Hardware returns with the highly anticipated remix album “From The Vaults”, which features an eclectic mix of future artists who have reimagined some of the most iconic tracks from Renegade Hardware's historic back catalogue.

Over two decades since its release, Konflict’s ‘Messiah’ continues to be celebrated as a Drum & Bass classic and is widely regarded as one of the greatest tracks ever written within the Drum & Bass realm. Only 2 artists have had the honour to remix this track - Noisia & Spor. Now, the Anglo-Russian duo Magnetude takes up the mantle, presenting their eagerly anticipated remix that takes listeners on an electrifying adventure. Matrix is an artist who embodies diversity, whether that's as part of the Matrix & Futurebound project, garnering over a hundred million streams, scoring a UK Top Ten house single under the Goldtrix pseudonym or through his role as a pioneer of brooding neurofunk alongside his brother and Virus Recordings label owner Optical. One of an elite few producers to have achieved a string of commercial hit records whilst maintaining a position at the forefront of underground drum & bass, Matrix boasts a long history of respect amongst his counterparts.

The first solo release from Matrix in almost a decade, 'Let's Go Back' fuses the raw, uncompromising spirit of his early productions, with the ferocious energy and contemporary standards which have made his cuts with Futurebound so successful. Intense, apocalyptic and expertly crafted, 'Let's Go Back' stands firmly at the cutting edge of drum & bass music in 2019.

Matrix began his career with singles on such legendary labels as Moving Shadow, Metalheadz, Prototype and Hospital Records, before the release of his seminal 'Sleepwalk' album on Virus Recordings -considered by many as a key chapter in the foundations of drum & bass. His own imprint Metro Recordings was also heralded as a defining part of this journey. Luka Per aka Smooth was introduced to music at the age of 10, when he began to practice piano. After practicing for 3 years and later on he became more interested in guitar, also in such genres as metal, hardcore etc. When a couple of years passed by he attended his first drum n bass party and he was hooked!

After hearing ‘Under The Moon’ which would appear on Viper Recordings ‘Acts of Mad Men’ album, Smooth was signed to the label and later went onto release his first single ‘7th Sense’ / ‘Squirm’ (feat. KG) on Viper’s sister label, Viper VIP. Smooth is also one half of Telekinesis who recently made their debut on Breed 12 Inch label, as well as one third of City of Dogs, whose track ‘Absolutely Flawless’ was featured on Pendulum’s Radio1 Essential Mix. 

2011 was a breakout year for Smooth, starting off with the massive single 'Feel So Free' on Viper VIP, which was followed by 'Calling' and Smooth's absolutely immense remix of the Matrix & Futurebound classic 'Strength 2 Strength' on Viper's 'Worldwide 001' album. This was followed by two tracks on Viper's 'Summer Slammers 2011' album, with 'Want It' and 'Alienated' (as Telekinesis). 

Smooth has gained a legion of new followers over the course of 2012 with his massive ‘Blinded By The Light EP’ released in January which featured no less than seven essential cuts which showed the amazing range of the young producer. Busy on the remix front as well, Smooth has provided official remixes for smash hits such as Camo & Krooked – ‘Get Dirty’ (feat. TC) and Seven Lions – ‘Below Us’ (feat. Shaz Sparks), as well as the upcoming Matrix & Futurebound single ‘Magnetic Eyes’ (feat. Baby Blue) and Modestep’s new single ‘Another Day’.

Now ready to launch the next chapter of his career, Smooth has set his sights on working towards his debut album on Viper Recordings which will surely catapult him amongst the elite producers in drum and bass. Serving as the first album single, ‘Virgo Cluster’ is the perfect showcase of Smooth’s trademark anthemic dancefloor funk which he is becoming world renown for.
