Merging 006 with Luke Bartolo (Drum and Bass Special)

I have decided every 6th Merging will be a drum and bass mix. So a fun fact out of all the styles I play all of my drum and bass mixes are the highest played, even my older ones still get regular plays. So I gotta keep you all happy. Funny thing is I would never call myself a drum and bass dj too, I just enjoy playing it every now and then for the challenge because it really does keep me on my toes and test my skills. This mix is a little bit different to the style and structure of my other dnb sets, hope you like it.... oh and this must be played loud for maximum enjoyment.

One of my favourite days/nights at the burn this year was the Wednesday. Venturing across the playa to 9 & I, playing a set at camp Diskordia whilst sipping delicious cocktails and dancing with friends was something special! I got the chance to play a more proggier set then usual, which I thoroughly enjoyed. l hope this mix makes you as happy as I felt playing it 🎶

DnB Beard Bro, @JSlyde, and I were lucky enough to be paired together for another VS DnB set for the legendary RFLXN crew.

In support of international act, Document One, it was the first DnB event even run at Boney, and we were honored to open the main room from 10pm - Midnight.

What followed was 2 hours of select liquid-funk cuts, with a handful of harder edged numbers thrown in for good measure.

Finally!!!! Here's my set from Burning man 2017 on the Mutant Vehicle HeadSpace!! 

Loved playing a Melodic Techno Journey set. Was so cool driving round playing on this art car getting to see the view of the Playa. Was on a 41 degree day and I played from 5 till 6.50pm so was so hot up there with no cover. One of the CDJ's was almost fully broken so I quickly learnt how to mix with a broken Deck and everything was completely covered in the thick playa dust. Was a great experience, Loved it!!!

► About Gabriel Ananda ♫
The idea to do a 9 to 5 job, even going to school gave Gabriel nightmares already when he was a very young boy. His passion was always bigger than his discipline and his dreams were even bigger. He wanted to be really good in something and a little famous which would solve a lot of wishes like Independency, beeing loved by everybody, especially girls and money to have a good live.

Thats why his passion for science, philosophy, electronics, sports and music often lead into complete obsession  in one of these things.  At the age of 15 he wanted to win the tour de france and cycled 60 to 160 km every day after school but ended his racing career after the first race, which ended up being too violent in his opinion. Then he wanted to take Richie Samboras place and ended up playing guitar for 2 years - 5 hours every day - but it didn't do it for him either. Then he finally discovered his passion he would stick to for longer: Electronic music.

Music you can create on your own seemed like a vast, undiscovered field surrounded by endless possibilities and the hope to be finally seen as a person, to be valued, make a living and find a place in an alternative society.

In 2004 he produced a boundary-breaking track called „Süssholz“, a very melodic and uplifting tune. After several declines, the label „Treibstoff“ wanted it. A few weeks later the track was charted number one on the Groove Charts and became a must have on the DJs playlists at the time. In the following months, basically nothing happened. Spaghetti and Ketchup and a little job at a colognes clubs cloak-room still had to make his living.

He was already about to lose hope, after 9 years of production without success, when a few months later it suddenly all shifted. Bookings from many countries came in and he shifted in no time from zero to a headliner. Totally overwhelmed by this unexpected situation, he would travel with a huge Live-Set-Up to his shows, without really understanding what was happening around him. In 2005 he surpassed all his prior releases with „Ihre persöhnliche Glücksmelodie“. Everything became bigger and the massive support from Sven Väth and Cocoon at the time kept pushing his career forward.
