This is a very special edition of Merging.
As a celebration of my 40th birthday I decided to throw a Merging Live party at Rubix Warehouse in Melbourne. Here is the recording of my 6 hour set from the night.
It really was a special moment for me being able to play an extended set like this in an amazing venue with all my friends there enjoying every moment. It is truly something I will never forget.

Having been heavily involved with the thriving Melbourne techno scene for many years, it took a while for this self confessed music addict turned vinyl junkie to find his calling behind the decks. Influenced by a solid foundation of techno, a love of all things melodic and a passion for outdoor bush festivals and psychedelia, Simon’s fascination with a wide array of sounds has helped spawn a deep understanding of the music and scene which he loves. Through focusing his passion for raw underground sounds on his DJ sets, Simon Murphy has spent the better part of the last decade turning more than a few heads playing an eclectic blend of musical madness from his favourite producers from across the globe. 

Delving into a forever growing collection of tunes, Simon Murphy does not restrict himself to any one sound, spinning anything from electronica to deep house & tech house, techno & progressive to the harder edged sounds best enjoyed on a dusty dancefloor and everything in between. With a borderline obsession for music, a collection that would rival a record store and OCD tendancies when it comes to finding the right sound for every set, Simon Murphy fully commits himself to his craft and delivers his passion via his music for all to share.

A music aficionado with an obsessive, compulsive desire to dig deep for dance floor weapons, Algorithm has spent two decades mastering his craft. Igniting his passions for a wide range of genres as a young DJ on the club circuit, he developed a deep understanding of the sounds he now uses to stir up dusty dance floors. In the past few years alone he has graced the stages at some of the scene’s most influential and respected events such as Rainbow Serpent Festival, Earthcore, Yemaya, Babylon, Esoteric and Eclipse Festival. 
Embracing the energy and exciting influences the festival circuit offers, Algorithm has honed his sound and abilities to a fine art, having broadened his tastes and style, he's become a trusted source of musical magic across all listening spaces. Each time he takes the stage, armed with an inspiring range of sounds and well thought-out sets, Algorithm forms the path of the dance floor journey and takes the punters on a ride.
