Potentially 2015's hottest new Glitch/Hip-Hop hybrid artist, Ives is setting his 2016 stage for breakout with an eerie psychedelic collection of bomb originals backed up right with serious remix business. Tunes alone, this is one of the most unique albums I have heard to begin with, but this man gets hella real and in your face, like now. Amidst the message pervading every track, the art of story telling is not lost on him as he creates a whole musical reality representative of the feelings of our enlightened few with some serious breaks and the bass to back it up. Some of the strongest messages of change have pervaded hearts and minds through art and with his debut album, Ives hits the mark. 

Vortex perfectly describes the vibe within as experienced while moving through the album as it sinks deeper into the ominous atmospheres. The title track also gets a Trap fix by Metapød, while 'Echo' feat. vocals by Mage Tha Blackheart gets sliced and diced thrice with instrumentals by Levitation Jones, SRS BZNZ and Petrified Force. You want a real piece of art, look no further as this marvellous achievement of dystopian present takes you on a world-bending excursion on the reality of our now through thought and sound.

The French dame of downtempo CloZee is back, this time with ten new remixes from some of the most talented producers in the scene. "Revolution Remixed” features offerings from ill.Gates, Electrocado, Sixis, AMB, David Starfire, The Digital Connection and more, with each adding their own unique spin to CloZee’s original reflective expedition, “Revolution”. Spanning glitch hop, dubstep, downtempo, and even electro, the entire collection is available now via Gravitas Music for free download. 

Opening with AMB’s remix of the title track, the listener is lured down a haunting yet playful rabbit hole. But that’s just the beginning. Both Igama & ill.Gates take ‘Sankar’s Lake’ in a new direction by injecting their own musical flavor into CloZee's already beautiful piece. While Igama gets slow and sensual, ill.Gates adds soulful samples and a dash of heavy bass to take the track to new heights. An energy-fueled take on ‘Anticlimax' by glitch duo Electrocado picks the pace up midway through the album before things return to a more deliberate pace with David Starfire’s re-imagined ‘Apsara Calling’, with Starfire adding psy-dub zest for a sub-heavy twist on the original. I played tunes of mine that I thought were appropriate for a sunny summer afternoon. When I showed up to the stage is was a pleasant surprise to see thousands of people there at the opening ceremony for the festival.  I didn't know that ceremony was going to be on the stage I was performing at (Earth Stage, pic is shown), so this was an epic surprise. The ceremony was very powerful and moving and I ended up picking new songs of mine to start out my set about 60 seconds before I started playing music. Symbioses throws my favorite music festivals in the US so I'm deeply grateful to be involved! It's free download and the quality with the free download sounds WAY better than SoundCloud.

Mandala Affect (aka Luke Mandala) Psybass set live in Eugene 3/23/18 (FREE D.L.)

This set was from 6-8:30pm. There was a break a half hour into it for a circle that happens with some discussion with the community, the only edit I made to this recording was to take out that part. I went into this event intentionally not knowing what songs I would play or in what order I would play them, I decided to pick them on the fly depending how how things felt in the moment. Eugene, Oregon (where this dance was) has stronger affinity toward vintage music than any place I can think of so I was trying to work that into this mix a bit. Huge thank you to the awesome people putting on Coalessence and to the dancers rocking that dance floor!

Luke’s dynamic live act includes playing a mixture of electronic and acoustic music while mixing in multiple live wind instruments and live drumming. His lifelong devotion to community dance medicine started at age 14 in 1998 when he started to DJ at northwest USA raveriffic events! He then started touring the world and releasing hundreds of songs released with a large number of the biggest labels in the world like Selador, Desert Hearts, Digital Structures, Dreaming Awake, Desert Trax, Booka Shade Music. 

This is deep piscean scorpio music, sprinkled with unusual sounds, unexpected twists, eclectic mix of global sounds, various tempos and grooves. It reflects stories of love-driven culture and open-minded ideas.  Depending on the crowd, the sets can vary from being pretty and uplifting to deep, dark, and primal, although they typically feature melodic and atmospheric textures infused with a lot of emotion.  Luke also has a functional (natural, root cause) medicine practice as this weaves so beautiful with dance and music medicine. He helps people heal frequent issues of the gut, metabolism and tiredness.
