15 Song Challenge: A Journey of Friendship, Music, and Creativity

I've asked two other talented DJs LADYRO$E and Mark Mansell, bound by their shared love for music and creativity, to embark on a unique challenge with me — to craft their own interpretations using a carefully curated list of 15 songs. Each DJ contributed five tracks, weaving together their individual tastes and musical influences into a pool of endless possibilities. The result? Three distinct sonic journeys, each as diverse and captivating as the minds behind them.

The challenge wasn't just about showcasing technical skills but celebrating the art of storytelling through sound. Each DJ approached the project with a fresh perspective, blending genres, tempos, and moods to create sets that reflected their personal styles while paying homage to the collaborative spirit of the challenge.

What made this challenge truly special was the shared passion these friends have for music. It wasn't about competition but collaboration — pushing each other to think outside the box and explore new creative horizons. Their friendship and mutual respect shone through in every beat, every drop, and every transition.

In the end, the 15 Song Challenge was more than just a musical experiment; it was a testament to the transformative power of music and the magic that happens when creative minds come together. Each DJ's set stands as a unique interpretation of the same source material, proving that music is a canvas where imagination knows no bounds.

Co-founder of SUBCODE Radio, SKYMAN1882 (Simon H) has been immersed in music, DJing, and club culture for over 30 years. Influenced by early house, techno, and the Global Underground era, he developed a unique, emotive style blending harmonies, darker tones, and melodic layers. After moving to Asia in 2000, he crafted journeys of escapism through music, performing at venues like Boracay Music Festival in the Philippines. Now back in the UK, he continues to play nationwide and hosts his monthly Frameworks show on subcode.club, showcasing innovative soundscapes and new experiences.

Productora, dj y periodista oriunda de Mendoza, Argentina de nacionalidad española también.
Perteneciente a una extensa familia de artistas, lleva su pasión por la música desde pequeña.
Influenciada por diversos estilos musicales, aprendió a desenvolverse en varios instrumentos musicales como el piano y también en canto y locución , siendo parte de coros y estudiando de forma independiente. Su amor, particularmente por la música electró nica, nació cuando ella tenía 18 años, aquel fue el momento en el cual comenzó a asistir a festivales y clubes, apoyando la escena electrónica local, nacional e internacional.

Tiempo después, incursionó en el mundo del dijing y la producción musical.
Su música obtuvo el support de Hernán Cattaneo en el Resident 631, 569 y 504, en vivo en el día dos de sus shows en Forja Córdoba 2022 y Sunsetstrip Buenos Aires 2023, Guy J usó su lanzamiento por Sudbeat PM OPEN AIR Buenos Aires, Visión Fes-
tival Neuquen y Palapas Medoza entre el 2023 y 2024 en lo que es Argentina su canción Vivere también fue utilizada en múltiples shows alrededor del mundo y en el mes de enero Guy usó una canción unreleased para cerrar uno de sus aclamados mix. 

Y a su vez recibió support de Nick Warren en Mandarine Park Buenos Aires y bodega Duri gutti Mendoza en el 2022 y en Forja Córdoba 2024 y en Metropolitano de Rosario 2024, como también de Guy Mantzur en Moments Forja Córdoba 2023 y por último, Vilatobella recibió el support de Nick Muir en Palacio Alsina, Córdoba.

Radica en la provincia de Mendoza, Argentina donde ejercía el periodismo coyuntural y cultural, trabajando en Radio Nihuil 98.9, perteneciente al multimedio Grupo América, y siendo parte del programa Pulso Beat, emitido en Radio Botellón, un programa que
se encuentra enteramente dedicado a la música electrónica.

Actualemente continúa con la composición musical de su propia autoría conformando un reportorio para ser ejecutado en vivo en formato dj set híbrido solista (voz), como así también acompañada por músicos Karim Sar Sar (saxo) y ValleyAR (guitarra) en el formato dj set hibrido banda.

Julie Petrecca was born in 1981 in Montreal. Since childhood, Julie is introduced to music as she grows up practically in the recording studio own by her father. He quickly transmits his passion and his interest for the world of music to his daughter.

In her late teen, she discovers Electronic music and her passion for music grows even more. All these years of musical culture and the well kept connection to this particular universe, Julie's taste develops in several categories of Electronic music from Underground Deep House, Organic House, Progressive House, Melodic House & Techno, Techno ... nevertheless Julie prefers the underground sounds ;)

Since February 2015, Julie host her own weekly show ‘’The So What! Radioshow’’ presenting DJs and DJ/Producers from all around the world. She’s also involved in her Family radio, ‘’Radio Webphré’’

Eclectic and diverse, I’ve DJ’d/ organised events across the UK and Australia for the last two decades. From progressive beats at Halo (with Global Underground) in Newcastle to Funks Not Dead in Manchester/ Sydney and a growing number of gigs around Brisbane/ Gold Coast, I love to serve up dance inducing sounds. You can also catch my weekly residency on Dance Freex Radio, which mainly focuses on deep and melodic sounds. It honestly doesn’t matter if I’m playing funk & soul, progressive or any other shade of house. I just love music and will share a few mixes on here. The “Social Prohibition” series is deep, melodic, poolside prog while "Dirty Disco" is nu-disco and funky/soulful house, and "Deep in the House" is awash with groovy deep house.
