Feels like I’ve known you forever, year after year

When I think of all the ways I could have known you

Maybe you were a stream, and I was your stone
You flowed through my soul, made me your home

Softly caressing my branches and leaves

Whatever we were, we must have been close
In whatever world, we called it home
Two spirits entwined, over time and space
Finding each other in this familiar place

Maybe two flowers that bloomed side by side
Growing together, then fading in stride
Or two birds flying south to the warmth of the sun
Building a nest as two become one
