Contrast is the human experience. In this set of my original tunes, collabs, remixes and mashups we explore the difference between fast and slow rhythms, light and dark timbres, heavy and light vibrations, space and fullness, just as we at the festival were experiencing the contrast between freezing temperatures outside and steaming hot dancefloors inside, the contrast between being bundled up and stripping half naked to dance with our sweaty friends.

In this time of the equinox, balancing the day and night, light and dark, hot and cold, we are called to balance ourselves. Sometimes balance means leaning much more to one side to relocate our center. Do you need more yin, or more yang, to find your balance?

Intuitively channeling a sonic prayer, Ra Ma Agua accompanied this set with their tribal style vocals and polyphonic throat singing. They begin singing around 1:11:11 thru the set until the end.

Kalani, Big Island, the birthplace of ecstatic dance! It was such an honor and a treat to be able to be the music facilitator for this dance spaceship! Thank you deeply to everyone who holds space to make this dance happen, from the organizers, the curators and volunteers to the dancers and community members. We danced on mother's day, giving thanks to all the mommas in the room and who were not with us, and to the pacha mama and the ʻāina that holds us all. We get deep and fiery in this set like Pele herself, who danced for me the week before when I took the picture for the cover art.  Feeling so much gratitude and joy. I danced til all my hair was wet with sweat, shaking and twerking and headbanging with the crowd. Such amazing energy! WOW. I will be back.
