система | system is proud to present a compilation of various Ukrainian artists and performers "SESTRO".

"SESTRO" is a compilation of electronic music from the Odesa-based label система | system, designed to bring together musicians from Ukraine who have been released on our label and performed at events we have organized. For many years we strive to cover a wide, diverse, and adventurous spectrum of Ukrainian music. The goal of the compilation is to directly financially support (ГО Сфера) Sphere (@womenspheresolidarity) which is a Kharkiv-based organization that actively helps women and LGBT+ people from eastern Ukraine in territories that are heavily affected by war. NGO Sphere (ГО Сфера) supplies crisis kits for women in frontline areas and also provides financial assistance to vulnerable groups of women, organizes legal and medical consultations, provides psychological assistance, informational campaigns, and activist events.

"We have never had an experience of working with women in conditions of stress, shock, and grief like today. Now we are trying to gather our experience and the experience of our colleagues from other countries to help deal with the terrible consequences of the survivors" - Anna Sharygina, a representative of NGO Sphere (ГО Сфера).

We believe that giving visibility to Ukrainian culture is an important part of our struggle, because Russia's war against Ukraine is imperialistic in nature, and for three centuries the works of Ukrainian authors have been denied and destroyed.
We will never agree to be dominated. We want, as artists, to give all possible support through our work to the brave volunteers now active in Ukraine, who are heroically fighting to save the most vulnerable.

"SESTRO" - це компіляція електронної музики від одеського лейблу система | system, яка покликана об'єднати музикантів_ок з України, що випускалися на нашому лейблі та виступали на організованих нами заходах. Протягом багатьох років ми прагнемо висвітлювати широкий та різноманітний спектр української музики. Мета компіляції — надати пряму матеріальну підтримку організації Сфера (@womenspheresolidarity) з Харкова, що наразі активно допомагає жінкам та ЛГБТ+ людям зі Сходу України на територіях, які сильно страждають від війни. ГО Сфера постачає кризові комплекти для жінок у прифронтових районах, а також надає фінансову допомогу вразливим групам жінок, організовує юридичні та медичні консультацій, надає психологічну допомогу, проводить інформаційні кампанії, активістські заходи.

“В нас ніколи не було досвіду роботи із жінками в умовах такого стресу, шоку і горя. Наразі ми намагаємося зібрати свій досвід і досвід наших подруг з інших країн, щоб допомогти впоратися з жахливими наслідками пережитих подій тим, хто вижив” - Анна Шаригіна, представниця ГО Сфера.

Ми вважаємо, що надання видимості українській культури є важливою частиною нашої боротьби, адже війна Росії проти України, має імперіалістичний характер і протягом трьох століть твори українських авторів_ок піддавали цензурі та знищували. Ми боремося проти Росії, що прагне нас колонізувати, ми боремося за нашу свободу, ми ніколи не погодимося, щоб над нами панували. Ми хочемо, як художниці_ки, своєю роботою надати всю можливу підтримку хоробрим волонтеркам, які діють зараз в Україні та відважно боряться за порятунок найуразливіших груп населення.

We’re happy to announce the welcoming of Heather Woods Broderick to our roster with her new album Domes. The album will be released on May 13th 2022 on vinyl, tape and digital. After having released solo albums on Western Vinyl and Preservation, Domes presents the first entirely instrumental work of the California based multi-instrumentalist.

Domes is a collection of meditative pieces based around the cello. While not being her primary instrument, the cello holds a very special place for the artist. Throughout the past 2 years, Heather often felt the need to find moments of respite in response to the chaotic and turbulent times we all faced in that period. Her days started or ended with the cello. A single melody initiated a process in which new elements were gradually added to the initial loop until the sounds filled her up. This process and the instrumental nature of these pieces opened the path for self-reflection and enabled her to express emotions outside the world of words or lyrics:

Domes is a documentation of that period and offers 7 pieces which to the artist feels like dense masses – strong grounding sounds that can hold weight or be used to disperse weight - in an emotional sense. The album title, Domes, reflects this idea as domes are made out of triangles – the strongest shapes in the physical world. Coincidentally, there are 7 different triangles. As such, the pieces on Domes each reflect a different triangle, a different strongest shape which offers the listener a solid basis to find rest and calmness.
