Like many of you, the horrific death of George Floyd has filled me with a mix of emotions – from sadness, anger, and confusion to a desire to take action, and to educate myself and others. The recent volume of protests, posts on social media, and increased awareness around racial injustice have been encouraging. I’m hopeful that this time will be different – that if we keep bringing our voices together, we can take important steps toward reforming the police brutality, racism, and inequities in our country. 

I’ve struggled with whether to share music right now, as I don’t want to divert attention from this important dialogue. However I realized that amidst learning, amidst being active, amidst protesting, amidst engaging in difficult conversations that bring important topics to light, amidst stress around social distancing and COVID, amidst the stresses of working hard or being out of work, we all need breaks – to recharge and to process our emotions. I made this mix as a way for the people I love and the people in my community to have space to contemplate and process these emotions. To take time to feel, to think, to understand, to feel our bodies, and to breathe. To join in movement. To channel our energies into furthering the Black Lives Matter movement.

Sending love to you all. Let’s keep bringing our voices together, and let’s keep turning up the volume on the change we want to see in the world!

Luke the Knife is the solo producer/DJ project of Luke Miller (keyboards/guitar in the band Lotus). The project mixes Disco, Funk, House, and Downtempo into a euphoric dance party. Based out of Denver, CO Luke the Knife has performed at festivals like Electric Forest, Euphoria, and alongside artists such as STS9, Goldroom, and Poolside. With a musician's ear, his seamless mixes and tight productions bring a fresh air to the electronic sound. 

The debut original album "Disco Nap" dropped in June 2021 and included guests CHERUB, Chalk Dinosaur, and Raven Jane.
