Here you will find samples of music I have written for various pieces of theatre, video games, films and other cool stuff.

Operation Lightfoot is an ongoing series of collaborations featuring guest songwriters and musicians.  The project's founder and artistic director is composer Luke Moore (soundcloud.com/lukemooremusic) .

In addition to several commissions to write new music, Operation Lightfoot are recording their debut album "Alignments" which features a range of artists from different genres.  With the emphasis as much on process - working outside a comfort zone - as the end result, each collaboration is an exciting and rewarding way of approaching songwriting.

Live performances regularly incorporate strings, brass and wind players alongside the regular band set up, blending music with a mixture of projections, visual artists, film makers, photographers and dancers, tailored to match each piece.

Wise Children is the new theatre company from artistc director Emma Rice

Luke Moore is a professional composer, arranger, session musician (cello, bass, piano)& producer. 

Luke is frequently commissioned to compose new work & multidisciplinary pieces.  He specialises in scoring & recording strings for solo artists, bands & other composers, with previous work having been broadcast on BBC2, Channel 4, BBC Radio 2 & BBC 6 Music.

Luke is the artistic director of Operation Lightfoot, an ongoing series of music & Arts collaborations.

Ian Michael Ross is a multi instrumentalist, composer and Music Director from Bristol, UK. 

Ian started playing music in living rooms, barns and youth clubs in rural Somerset, adding keys and trombone to ska, punk and big bands in the area. He has a degree in Musical Instrument Technology from London Guildhall University and cut his teeth playing festivals, tea rooms, weddings, pavements and raves from New York, U.S.A., to Penzance, Corwall with Bristol based Babyhead and The Zen Hussies throughout his mid to late twenties. 

In 2008 Ian auditioned for Kneehigh Theatre’s Brief Encounter and played Guitar, mandolin, Trombone, Piano and Double bass for its opening at on the Haymarket. There followed more than 20 shows performing and music directing for the company nationally and internationally including, The Red Shoes, The Wild Bride, Tristan and Yseult, The Flying Lovers of Vitebsk (Directed by Emma Rice) and Dead Dog in a Suitcase (Music by Charles Hazlewood, Directed by Mike Shepherd). 

Ian has composed for Kneehigh (Hansel and Gretel, The very Old man with Enormous Wings, The flying Lovers of Vitebsk) and for The Shakespeare Globe (Twelfth Night); currently he is the Director of Music for Wise Children and an Associate Artist of Kneehigh.  

Most recently Ian is Music Director for the Toronto/London run of Girl form the North Country (Written and directed by Colin McPherson, Runaway Entertainment).  

As a workshop leader, Ian has led the Creative Factory for Bath Festivals Trust and is involved with the School for Wise Children. In 2016 Ian went to the Jungle in Calais with Mike Shepherd and Kneehigh to offer workshops with Good Chance Theatre.
