Miss Melera: Holland’s Rising Star
Remember this name: Miss Melera. For, as the past few decades have shown, when it comes to dance music, the world follows Holland’s lead. And right now, no new star shines as bright as our own Miss Melera.
For the past 10 years, the Haarlem-based Miss Melera has been perfecting her art, and developing mixing skills that have already been compared to legends such as Sasha and John Digweed. She’s done her homework, absorbing the essence behind traditional genres such as progressive, deep and tech house and old-school techno, and then twisting them into a melodic confection that is both fresh and timeless, and completely her own. A triple threat, Miss Melera is as at home in the studio as she is on the airwaves, in the DJ booth at an underground club, or on the stage of an outdoor massive. Her monthly radio show on soundcloud, Colourizon, is increasingly popular, and her fast-growing fan base is eagerly awaiting her first EP, Stare/Stunning, which will be released by Parquet Recordings on November 1st. Her upcoming tour will give a global audience a chance to experience what savvy music lovers in Miami, Berlin, Tokyo, and, of course, Amsterdam already have. Known for their finely balanced blend of deep techno vibes and housy disco elements, Stil & Bense return with a laid-back groover that’s equal parts subtle and catchy. LUKINS proudly presents 7 Layers — the debut collaborative album from Paons & Idaam. Rooted in melodic house and electronica, the album unfolds as a deeply textured journey through seven unique tracks, each one representing a creative layer of emotion, rhythm, and atmosphere.

Both based in Brandenburg, Paons and Idaam are central to the LUKINS collective, known for its community-driven approach to electronic music. Paons is the solo project of Patrick Steppons — DJ, producer, and founder of LUKINS — who brings years of experience and a rich melodic sensibility to the table. Idaam, co-founder of LUKINS and member of the Save Your Culture collective, stands for process over product, drawing on shared studio moments and a sense of ease in creation.

7 Layers reflects the duo’s synergy: a sound shaped by intuition, trust, and curiosity. The album opens with “TKCR & GDBY,” a cinematic, breakbeat-infused track full of tension and tenderness. “A Friend Of Giulia” follows with playful guitar licks and a sunlit groove, while “Low Gravity Moves” takes things to the club — powerful basslines and soaring female vocals define this peak-time moment. Miss Melera is back in action on the influential Chapter 24, with a brand new and brilliant EP that features two great originals as well as Editions from Dave Seaman and Jonas Saalbach.

Miss Melera hails from Amsterdam and has been honing her craft over the last decade. She is a radio regular as well as a touring DJ who plays the finest clubs and festivals around Europe and the Americas. As well as this, she has proven her studio chops are slick and compelling and has released EPs on labels like Parquet and Einmusika before now.

Her first cut here is Magenta, a robust house roller with grumbling bass, dark atmospheres and icy hi hats rolling on top of the groove. It’s a broody back room track with lush synths that subtly uplift the whole affair and keep you locked.
