A musician friend that had passed away messaged through the timelines to offer the words 'underground deception' and the threads of the song wove into shape from there. Setting up the analog soundscape: the sonic inspiration for the track is Roland infused with a heavy dose of Moog. 707 percussion is immersed in an 808 foundation, channelling filtered 'space voices,' patched through a classic Moog ladder filter. This work has been timed to release in synch with April's Full Pink Moon 2025, after the galactic frequencies of March's lunar & solar eclipses surrounding the Spring Equinox opened a rare portal of infinite possibilities. Rude Audio's Dub Mix (aka Mark Ratcliff), is a lush, dark, subterranean wormhole with an infectious 303. Welcome to the unified field of dub spacetime! So pleased Mark could join us on this journey. The UK artist has built a formidable reputation through releases on Lost Property, Paradise Palms, Me Me Me, Love Attack, Bordello A Parigi, Pets, Not An Animal, and Sound Du Jour itself – imprints known for their club-ready deliveries. This latest offering stays true to form, featuring two original productions and a remix by none other than Dharma that reworks the title track into fresh territory. Vyvyan’s sound – equal parts functional and distinctive – has earned consistent support from DJs who value themes with both immediacy and longevity.

'A decade has passed since Infinity Night graced Bordello A Parigi with his wonderful Winter and Summer EPs. After too long a wait, the French producer returns with the aptly titled Le Temps Qui Passe. Six slices of select synthesizer music make up the 12”, tracks lovingly crafted with Frederic Bergamaschi’s trademark analogue warmth. A melancholic melody meanders through brightness in “Tu Ne Me Réponds Pas”, dulcet words hidden under the machine gauze of a vocoder. Skittish percussion gives way to the refrain of “It’s Full of Stars”. Hazy keys appear as an arpeggiator rumbles below a shimmering sky. “Les Souvenirs De Valerie” picks up where its predecessor left off. Astral notes are beamed into the heavens, echoing into the while crisp cymbals tether the piece. Infinity Night has always sought that point of balance in his music, a bittersweetness he accentuates and explores. This is true in the darker shades of “Nymphomania”. Beats are bolstered, key stabs piercing the tenderness of analogue trills. The title track is a rich patchwork. A burbling undercurrent supports forays into diverse tangents with lyrics surfacing through key shifts and sliding scales. Marching to militaristic rhythms, “I Comme Icare” is the curtain call. The stringent drums are broken by sailing synthlines, vocals masked in a familiar mesh to close. Le Temps Qui Passe, well worth the wait.'

Infinity Night - Les Souvenirs De Valerie

Returning to the Bordello, and the seven-inch, is Real Velour. This secretive figure reappears with two tracks of indie dance that bend and re-shape elements of italo disco, minimal pop and synth wave to create an utterly unique experience. Sleazy basslines and tropical percussion give way to heavily vocodered words in “Lover”, machine amor breaking to spoken human voice as melodies twirl. The romance described is one of passion, of friendship and of fidelity; but, with a hint of control. Clever and addictive, the composition cherry-picks bittersweet sounds to depict this relationship. The flip, “Look What You’ve Done”, maintains the candystore keys of the A-Side; the tone shifting as lyrics adopt a brazen and fortified vigour. It appears maybe that the promises of “Lover” have been shattered. While the love story turns to hurt feelings and regret, Real Velour keep the energy high to revel in the final break-up.

A betrayal is an unexpected twist. A moment of schizophrenia where the world is turned upside down. We feel the curvature of the earth and it becomes explicit to us that there is something on the other side of our world that we didn't know. Or that we don't really know our world as we thought we did. It feels like a wobbling of the ground on which we tread, frantic, torn and passionate at the same time. But we can also betray ourselves. We betray ourselves by taking different paths that lead to places we did not think of. How does a betrayal sound, how does it feel, in what frequencies and energies does it vibrate? Ultimately, what is there is always an unforeseen. "Traiciones" plays with the idea of what we can feel when we feel betrayed, but also that the tracks themselves betray us, or by taking different paths than expected, by changing the bpm in the middle of the track, or by promising a track that will never exist.
