Inspired by the BLM movement and my protest experiences of this past summer (and ongoing efforts to push for police reform and fight systemic racism in the USA) this was really a landmark for me both stylistically and in sound design, really pushing the boundaries and seeing how gnarly I could get with the low end and swingy groove of a track. Part of a fundraising release, track sales donated to NAACP. Throw your fist up.

Rise Together

This is a song about how intense emotions from our challenging experiences (such as grief, sadness, loss, stress, fear, etc.) hit us in waves. This is without a doubt one of my favorite songs I’ve ever made. I was in a extremely emotional place while writing it and I think that really shows in the music. I hope it brings healing and a sense of release into this distraught world.

I wrote this from a very emotional place and thus hope it can bring some form of comfort or healing to anyone who is missing someone important to them. You are never alone.
