I hope you all enjoy my re-imagining of this 90's nostalgia trip and through it find the inspiration to always chase your own dreams no matter how crazy they may seem. Remember- you always have the power to manifest your dreams into reality, always. Don't ever let anyone convince you otherwise!

In memory of the late legend Dolores O'Riordan, one of the greatest singers of my generation. This one also goes out to my amazing mother who first showed me the band as a child.

LEViT∆TE & Macntaj - Bodied (Luminyst Remix)

Presenting: ‘The Void’, the latest single and WUMP debut from @luminyst. 

It’s certainly no secret that we at WUMP Collective find solace in diving deep into the darkness, often emerging with newfound inspiration for creating a new piece of art. When we enter the abyss that’s devoid of light, we’re given the opportunity to shift our gaze inward and explore our own inner cosmos with the flashlight of our conscious awareness. Sometimes what we find in there can be disturbing, no doubt, but also liberating. In some rare cases, we can even slip into states that are non-dual; beyond the dichotomy of light and dark altogether. Today’s release by Ohio-based producer, Luminyst, is a beautiful and haunting example of what can happen when an artist explores the space in between the dark and the light: The Void.

Ignoring conventional song structure and instead creating a cinematic exploration of sound, SLAVE has revealed something truly unique and special with ‘The Void.’ Right from the start we’re transported into a shadowy, run-down industrial atmosphere as we hear the faint echoes of moaning machinery- the lingering remnants of a darker time that’s nearly forgotten. A slowly pulsating beat drags us forward into motion with menacing sound design that undoubtedly feels alive- stagnation and dissonance anthropomorphized through sound. Gradually intensifying, we eventually break through the darkness to find a deeper layer underneath, as a steady driving beat and synth melodies take us into the abyssal emptiness, into The Void. However, as Buddhist philosophy clarifies, this emptiness (known as “sunyata”) is not a boring, lifeless emptiness. This is the emptiness from which everything is born, the background that allows the figure to exist. Truth can be found in the void, if one has the courage to look.
