Andy Toth casts a long shadow in the Detroit scene. From being co-founder of the Detroit Grand Pubahs to working as an engineer and mixer, he’s worked on so many records that you know but in his egoless way, didn’t know he was part of. Being the co-author of “Sandwiches” took him around the world, but more importantly it was the hold music for Mudgie’s, a legendary Detroit Deli run by another long standing denizen of the Detroit underground, Greg Mudge. Greg Mudge was a true pillar of our techno community in Detroit, from showing us the venue for the first leaky roof No Way Back, to throwing his own events and supporting great people. One of those people was Andy Toth, who he was constantly pressuring to release his music, and this became a major theme of Greg Mudge’s memorial.  When Greg suddenly passed last September, some friends came in to DJ his memorial like Derek Plaslaiko. When it was Andy Toth’s turn he played only his own productions and we were all just so blown away. Mudgie was always asking Andy “what’s up with those tracks?” And this record is the answer,  a testament to that thought, and to the deeply layered and detailed work of Andy Toth. Andy has created a uniquely dense Detroit Sci Fi trip through sound, with elements of acid, electro, techno that result in an advanced and mature adventure in sound, reflecting his roots in the Detroit scene, but pushing it into new hypnotic futures, to boldly go where no one has gone before.

The third KRI Records release features the infamous Italo Moderni (@Italo_Moderni) label boss Adrian Marth joining forces with the Italian EBM master Diana Berti (Violet Poison) and it's a belter. Warm and punchy analog beats are spiced with haunting melodies and sinister pads that will break even the toughest of ravers. Sturdy EBM-ish, dark italo and wave production is cushioned with Adrian's mysterious vocals adding yet another layer to a diverse EP accompanied by two heavy-weight remixes.

Magic Fantasia is reimagined as a dirty electro firecracker by Chupacabras (L.I.E.S.) while Panoramix Forest is transformed into a
commanding EBM march by Chino (Pinkman).

Think of Dario Argenti walking into a dark club at 3 AM ...

Chilean artist Magda Rot makes a head-turning debut here with some ice-cold electro rhythms on the Return To Disorder label which is now fast approaching a quarter century of releases. There is no messing with these sounds - they're built on tight, kinetic rhythms with fierce sound designs and stark futurism. 'Triads' is a mix of crisp hits and gurgling synths with dramatic background chords. Tooflez returns with their latest serving, the "Bass Control’’ remix LP, exploring the different dimensions in the multi-faceted universe of ELECTRO.

The original cut was cooked up by label head-chef ANDI A. Once upon a lock-down, when humans had only machines for company… a Juno 1, an old Yamaha groove box, a glitchy noisy synthesizer and a cheap microphone transpired ‘Bass Control’ into space and time.

Never intended to be released, 3diz asked Andi A. for the stems one day, and the rest is h̴i̴s̴t̴o̴r̴y̴ the f u t u r e.

ANDI A. delivers the original on the A1. Timeless electro with a dystopian air 'to it, perfectly fit for building energy and suspense.

The first remix is from Indigo Plateaux, showcasing their distinctive sound, deconstructing the original to a peak-time technoizoid banger.

The Detroit Electro veteran, DJ Di’jital, delivers a bass-heavy, deep dive into the underground; proving once again why no one does it like Detroit does it.

On the B1. we have Viikatory dishing out saturated 808’s and snappy acid lines, spaced out arps and a distinctive echoing assurance.

3diz pushes the bass into a distorted weighty nastiness, leaving nobody immune to the infections ‘bass face’ syndrome.

And finally, the sophisticated production of Echowoman marries the spacey intergalactic sounds with warmer drum tones found on earth.
