Welcome to 2018! Helping you get over the turgid reality that is January back at work, we bring you six new remixes. With @vitodruzzi's original Mother of Mars EP picking up DJ support and critical acclaim from the likes of Andrew Weatherall and Trevor Jackson, here are some versions designed to pull the track ‘Seed 2 Sky’ into entirely new shapes...

First up, @esso-ess takes inspiration from the warmth and the throb of Kraftwerk’s motorway music and reimagines it set in the stars, creating a pulsating mix that’s best heard whilst travelling the vast arteries of an unknown life form. The @c_a_r mix is perhaps the most dramatic of the bunch, with Chloé turning Mother of Mars’ original into the basis for an entirely new song, layering vocals and reverb heavy electro drums over the mysterious melodies of ‘Seed 2 Sky’, creating a heady trip hop epic reminiscent of the early work of pioneers such as Lamb.

@justinrobertson-deadstock has decided on an entirely different tack, slowing the tempo down to an industrial stomp and using it as the base for a rolling techno arpeggio that swoops and ducks, always marching onwards, the soundtrack of a lost John Carpenter sci-fi shocker. Our latest addition to the Ransom Note roster, @graintable, delivers the kind of beatless emotional sprawl that we love him for, stretching out the shimmering synths into a glittering blanket of stars, as wide and lovely as the heavens themselves.

Leaf teases the track out into a two part psychedelic epic, opening with dreamy washes of sound and live drums that build to a euphoric crescendo, before falling away to reveal a bassy electro jam, his rhythmic pulses a robotic heartbeat. @october aka Malestripper delves deep into the obscure, crafting a brooding leftfield slive of techno wonk. Made with impeccable production values, snare drums echo and clatter, cavernous toms rain down, and melodies skitter in the sidelines as the music wanders through dark forests of imagination.

The scent hung delicately in the summer air as the birds chirped with a polite chorus amidst the trees. The television flickered and flashed inside the living room as the great outdoors was in bloom. His eyes were fixed, focussed and locked upon a beautiful image which showed a galaxy full of life far, far away. He cared not for the glory of nature upon planet earth and all that lay beyond his window, for he might be a wanderer amongst the stars. His life was but a breeze in a tiny capsule, a television kid of the next generation. 

Has anybody told you that breaks are back in fashion yet? They have? Ah, well. We are here to tell you again! First Second Label, an imprint operating out of Dublin are preparing to release a quite brilliant EP by ELLLL, a rave inspired utopian jam with a rough undercurrent.

PREMIERE: ELLLL - Febreeze [First Second Label]

The noise echoed in the dense chamber as he began to wander between the maze of open tunnels. It was a mysterious passageway full of dark turns and odd corners. Nobody knew really where the end was, whether it was in fact an end which could even be found. I don't really know either, all I could think of was losing myself beneath the city walls and never returning to the surface. He walked onwards through the quiet realm of tunnels, the dust covered walls trapped him from the outside in. I was lost. 

12th Isle are set to release a new EP from Glasgow based musician and producer Lo Kindre, a familiar face up north who has previously released on Optimo Music and in collaboration with Mr TC on Neubau. The record, titled "Chlorophytum", is an abstract collection of experimental electronics and instrumentation - blending dub, drone and psychedelia in an unorthodox fashion.
