The sun had barely risen as he clocked in at the front door of his office. Without fail, he was always the first one in and the last one out; in his mind there was something to prove. How could he possibly make it to the top of the food chain if he didn't put the hours in? But it wasn't just the time, he had to throw others under the bus to climb the ladder. He'd do whatever it took.

During the pandemic, DJ and Emergency Room boss Zaltsman had plenty of time on his hands to make new music. Refining what he terms as a 'bouncy UK style', his output touches on elements of house, UK funky and stripped back techno and has seen him contribute tracks and remixes on Dansu Discs and Distrokid. He self-releases his next cut, 'Nao Paro', which he cites as a homage to the funk scene in Brazil, sampling the lyrics of Diadema-based rapper MC Petter.

We are back on track after a long hiatus with a second release from label-head @kosh212. This four track EP includes on one side 2 effective club tracks driven by heavy bass lines and nasty acid patterns, and on the other side 2 spacey electro tracks tinted with soothing melodies.

Full of funky grooves, slick synths and moody bass-lines — this week we welcome Driss Bennis aka OCB to the Dimensions Festival mix series. 

Putting the same thought and consideration into his own productions and mixes as he does with the Casa Voyager label he founded in Casablanca, this is electronic music with an edge; while often rooted in electro, it's soulful feeling and laced with undertones of funk.

With a debut appearance for us at Dimensions 2020, we're excited to witness these sounds face to face and celebrate in Tisno this summer.

Having been inspired by the sounds that spawned from Ruff Sqwad, other Grime originals, and so many other resulting waves of UK music, it was so energising to find out more about this amazing work that has evolved from it.

They approach education and collaboration in an incredibly genuine and musically apt way - creating a bridge between grassroots ethics and industry ambition.
