A year after his last album, “NO VISA,” the globetrotting, genre-hopping DJ and producer Captain Planet returns to the airwaves with another burst of unabashed positivity, this time teaming up with the Colombian superstar Kevin Florez. "Borracho Bailando Champeta" is a stylistic homage to the genre Champeta, which fuses African music with indigenous Colombian sounds like Cumbia and Bullerengue and incorporates Caribbean influences like Reggae and Dancehall. Originating in San Basilio de Palenque, Colombia (the first free town for liberated African slaves in the Americas) in the 1970s, the style continues to thrive around the Caribbean coast, inspiring a younger generation of musicians such as Florez, aka The Young King of Champeta. Composed and recorded in the two artists’ respective Covid cocoons in Cartagena and Los Angeles, "Borracho Bailando Champeta" is ready to close out a Summer of parties, dancing, and all-around good vibes.

And so we started out into the night, down towards the waterfront where there was the sound of music and shouts and drunken oaths, he was talking quietly all the while about this and that, about a girl he had fallen in love with. From that he switched back to the Baron de Charlus and then to Kurtz who had gone up the river and got lost. His favorite theme. I liked the way he moved against this background of literature continuously; it was like a millionaire who never stepped out of his Rolls Royce. There was no intermediate realm for him between reality and ideas. When we entered the whorehouse on the Quai Voltaire, after he had flung himself on the divan and rung for girls and for drinks, he was still paddling up the river with Kurtz, and only when the girls had flopped on the bed beside him and stuffed his mouth with kisses did he cease his divagations. Ka:lu escaped from the empty land with his Arp and took the nowhere’s road. This is his second offering for Shango Records. These tracks can teach you how to give beauty to the people. Kaöb, DIBIDABO, AmuAmu, Chomba and Zuma Dionys are giving love and beauty and warm feelings in their own unique way.

Billy Stewart - Summertime (Sorä & Massam ft Stephane Salerno Tribute)

Dmitri Shostakovich wrote his Symphony No. 2 in B major, Op. 14 and subtitled To October, for the 10th anniversary of the October Revolution. It was first performed by the Leningrad Philharmonic Orchestra and the Academy Capella Choir under Nikolai Malko, on 5 November 1927. After the premiere, Shostakovich made some revisions to the score, and this final version was first played in Moscow later in 1927 under the baton of Konstantin Saradzhev. It was also the first time any version of the work had been played in Moscow.
