At the end of 2023, family, friends and the global electronic music community experienced a profound loss through the untimely passing of Vano Chikhladze, known as composer/producer Sonic Junkie. It is with deep reverence that we announce the release of a commemorative tribute compilation album honoring his life, creative work and the mark he left. 

Featuring 17 distinct voices from the music community, this project serves as a collective expression of love and admiration for a visionary artist gone too soon. Weaving together eclectic sonic specimens of IDM, techno, downtempo, future garage, dnb, juke, psybass, spoken word, and no-holds barred experimentalism, this compilation is an homage to Vano’s eclectic taste and fearless experimentation. 

This album includes previously unreleased tracks from Rob Clouth, Kilowatts, A Path Untold, Lunecell, Aligning Minds, Pathwey,K-Rai, PFDA, Jack Lion, Seeded Vision, Asan, A2K, Homospouses, and many more, and unites each producer’s unique contribution into a greater whole. 

This compilation will be a digital Bandcamp-only release with the possibility of physical copies depending on demand. In addition to the lossless music files, there is also an add-on printable PDF art package featuring visual art, writing/poetry, and other non-musical contributions from Vano’s loving creative community of friends and collaborators. 

All proceeds and donations generated by this album will go directly toward funding the commemorative Sonic Junkie Studio, located in Brooklyn, NY. This physical space will house Vano’s music studio as he left it, making it available to the community and his collaborators, keeping his creative spirit alive and well. 

We feel this is art in motion and music at its finest: applied to the deeply meaningful purpose of community catharsis, holding the power to help process, translate, communicate and heal a collective wound. Through this album, we, his friends, family and collaborators, endeavor to transmute our sorrow into a celebration of Sonic Junkie's vibrant legacy, coming together with remembrance and gratitude for his invaluable contributions.
